Empfangsturm Ütlandshorn, which was dismantled in 1977, was in the last years of its existence one of the last radio towers built of wood in the world. As one can see on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lattice_tower most wooden radio towers were already demolished before 1970!
Empfangsturm Ütlandshorn was used for receiving shortwave signals. It was built oak wood. Its top consisted of teak wood.
Empfangsturm Ütlandshorn was demolished very carefully. The teak wood of its top was used for making carvings and ornaments.
