Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): Observation Tower Merkur consists of two parts: an old observation tower consisting of bricks, built in the 19th century. Between 1980 and 1982 a new tower of concrete was built onto this tower. This tower contains an elevator for the visitors and has an antenna mast on its top. Before this tower was built visitors could reach the observation deck only by stairs

Beside this, the tower is a well-known tourist attraction in the resort Baden-Baden, which can be reached by a funiculaire.
