Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): The hospital has had many additions over the past century. The first addition was in 1904, with more in 1914, 1931, & 1940's. The two ten storey towers were completed in 1983 and 1991. It is the second largest hospital in Vancouver, and the only downtown hospital. There are curtrently plans, called the Legacy project, with two options; to redevelop the current site; or build a new facility on 18.5 acres purchased in the False Creek Flats area:
