^ That should be a good project, though I'm having a difficult time imagining where it will be. I even looked on Bird's Eye View (which has Tacoma now BTW) and got even more confused!

On another topic, do you guys think they'll ever do anything with all that space north of the Galleria and east of Lincoln Square? Where there is a California Pizza Kitchen and Barnes and Noble among other things? Seems like very a very underused area to me.

The West side of 106th from NE 4th to NE 8th is owned by PACCAR.

In other Eastside project news, the City of Issaquah recently installed a new streetlight on Front Street near my apartment, in a spot which was in bad need of a streetlight. :frog:

If you read the article, it specifically says its located at the SE corner of 110th and NE 3rd which is a full block now occupied by a bunch of abandoned houses. It's directly south of the Abella Condos and across the street from the Pinnacle Bellcentre. The article also has a map that clearly pinpoints where this is...

Gee, I don't think somebody likes me! :(

Anyway, NE 2nd Pl seems to be missing from that little map which is what confused me.

According to the new PSBJ out today, the rumor has it that Yahoo! is about to sign a lease for 120,000 sq ft at One Twelth@Twelth - which is the office complex where CH2M Hill is located.

I didn't know there was that much space available there! Maybe someone is going to move out.

So much for our hopes for CCII.

The article also said that Research in Motion (RIM, the makers of Blackberry) are going to take half of the space in the Legacy I-90 office park in Eastgate. Not sure exactly which one that is.

Legacy is the 2 small 2 story buildings east of the Gene Juarez building in Eastgate. Corner of Eastgate Way and 161st Ave SE.

Wild Ginger to take a walk on the East side
Nancy Leson, Seattle Times restaurant critic
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/restaurants/2003920523_foodbriefs030.html

Wild about Seattle's Wild Ginger (1401 Third Ave., 206-623-4450, www.wildginger.net)? Well, hold on to your chopsticks. A second Ginger is slated to take root at The Bravern, a multi-use project under construction in downtown Bellevue. The Bravern will also house thousands of hungry Microsoft employees, two residential towers and a multitude of high-end retail stores including Neiman Marcus. The restaurant's opening is slated for summer 2009, says Wild Ginger's owner Rick Yoder, who celebrated the signing of a letter of intent — and a belated 50th birthday — last week.

"It's been a fairly complicated lease negotiation," says Yoder, who scored a very visible spot, occupying the southwest corner of the building at 110th Avenue Northeast and Northeast Sixth Street. "The more we looked at the project, the more we liked it."

Yoder and his wife, Ann, opened the original Wild Ginger on Western Avenue in Seattle in 1989, later moving their popular pan-Asian restaurant to spacious new digs at Third and Union in 2000. We can expect "a similar look and feel" to that of the existing Ginger, with a bilevel dining space, an expansive satay bar and the menu that's been driving us wild for nearly 20 years.

The Bravern is coming along quickly......

The NE 8th auto court is taking shape and the West office building floors have reached street level.

The residential cores are slowly taking shape, but the garage levels are still 5 or 6 levels below the street.

Also..... anyone know what happened to the south construction elevator at City Center II?

Metro 112 site is now cleared. The project should be underway soon.

The Hyatt at Bellevue Place is escavation the garage pretty quickly. I went and viewed the vastness of the site from the upper level of the Wintergarden last week.

Also the parking tunnel between Bellevue Place and Lincoln Square will be open next month! Soon the mole people (and their cars) will be able to move around without surfacing

Escavating of BRE-Bellcara is also moving quickly.

The exterior on the Belletini is almost complete. This luxury senior building should be finishing up soon.

Ashwood Commons (aka Element II) is taking shape. The North wing is 3 floors up and the main tower core is starting to rise.

Avalon-Meydenbauer is moving quickly on the exterior. The South section is finishing up with the installation of steel for the street canopies and they are installing the useless balconies.

Tower 333 has windows installed on all but the top 3 floors. Window frames are being installed at street level.

I drove by the site today and the left elevator car is 1/2 a floor up from the bottom and it is all mangled.

According to the guys who where out to fix this car: A concrete pump truck had extended its boom out and swung underneath the manlift car, the manlift operator who was up near the top floors, came down in the car and didn't see the pump truck below him. The manlift car hit the concrete pump and the motors (which don't have a force override) continued to drive the car down and partially crush the car. The operator then hit the emergency stop and escaped out onto the nearest building floor. I don't know why they haven't hidden it from public view, it's embarrassing...

Yeah, that seems like a little too much, but who knows...

I like Bellevue Plaza, though I wish it were a little taller! :(

The Marriott has some pretty boring architecture.

The 10833 NE 8th St office tower is new, isn't it? It looks like it is where some of you thought that 40 story building might go (though the block is certainly big enough for more than one tower). I feel like I'm being repetitive, but that building looks a little short for such a prime location.

Legacy Tower and Bellevue tower are the same project. I think the tentative name right now is Bellevue Tower (which is really boring and will cause confusion with Bellevue Towers). The developer is Legacy Properties which built the Olympus Apartments in Belltown and some other apartment projects in the region. You can ignore the 2006 planned start date, that's a type-o. This project didn't even apply for permits till this past summer. The city really needs to hire an editor for this document, there's so many spelling errors.

I'm glad to see the new Kemper projects finally go into permitting, hopefully they'll start next year. Good to see some new projects too, the Essex tower is brand new to me. That's a fabulous location right across from downtown park. I've been waiting for a proposal to pop up for that location.

The NE 8th office tower is definitely the one mentioned in the article, the site is owned by Beacon Capital and the architect is Ruffcorn etc., maybe this was an earlier rendering before they decided to go up to 40 floors. We can only hope.

At least we now know for a fact that they want to build office. That means if they DO build a 40 storey, itll be over height limit. By a lot.

The address for the project on it is wrong as well. Says 11011 NE 9th street. They got it right on the map though.

The sheet says 800,000 SF of office space, that will a bit bigger than City Center II, which is stated at 700k sf.

Yes you are right. I looked up some City Center II fact sheets I have from the Bellevue Walking tour I did last summer, it is now just under 572K. So this new project at 800k is going to be one big building :)

Has anyone heard the plans to make B.C.C. a 4 year college? I was talking to a nursing student and she said that some time next year that they were going to change the name to Bellevue College. There was an article in Snoqualmie Valley paper about B.C.C. planning to build a branch campus on land purchased on Snoqualmie Ridge along with Snoqualmie Valley Hospital moving into a facility to be built as part of a campus setting.

Anyone with insights into how the major condo projects like Bellevue Towers, Lincoln Square and Washington Square are doing with sales in this economic environment? Are people who made deposits backing out? Also, what's the latest with proposed construction...what's now on hold and which are going to be built?

I just signed a mortgage for my Belltown condo on Thursday. I had no hesitation at all. Values in Belltown might have dropped a bit, but not as much as the 8% I prepaid including upgrades.

Longer term, while prices might drop a bit further, they'll be propped up by our fast-rising rents, and as our population continues to grow (and needs to live somewhere). Further, mortgages aren't as difficult to get as some people think. And interest rates are very low -- mine is 5.75. You just need a job and a regular-size down payment, and you can finance many times your salary.
