In my case I really look forward to spending time on the forum and when you then are greated with the HTTP 500 or whatever it's a tad anoying - especially if only having limited time ( as I normally do when I'm supposed to be working :D ) - or as is more the case for me when haveng spend a couple of minuttes on replying to a post just to see it wasted and the forum gone offline..

That said I know the problems comes with the territory on such a huge site and I remember how it used to be a certain winter - so compared to that the small ( and often very brief ) problems we see now are certainly acceptable.. being without them would just be even better :D

The reason I post in this thread is mainly to inform others ( like DaiTengu who's active here too ) - but I can't fully deny it also works fine to unload a bit of steam when stuff does happen ( why the negative tone shouldn't be taken too serious )

Whatever is said I for one ( and I'm sure everybody else ) do very much appreciate all that you are doing for us - life wouldn't be complete without SSC :D

No one else has these problems. I'm thinking it's just you. You said you've been banned multiple times, perhaps the servers have finally decided that you're a right foul git, and they don't want to deal with you.

Also, I finally tracked down and fixed the problem where people would get "Error 500" around the top of each hour. The problem was due to the system that updated all the "thread views" (the counters that show how many times a thread has been viewed).

Okay, so I'm on my new laptop, Windows Vista on it and using the newest version of Internet Explorer. So I randomly decide to type www.skyscrapercity.com into the url bar. AND OMFG IT ACTUALLY LOADS THE DAMN SITE. I'm so shocked and I spend like an hour browsing to make sure it was real and not some sort of crazed dream.

I have not been able to load SSC for well over a year on my PC, and yes I have tried many times. It doesn't load in Firefox or in Internet Explorer, though admittedly I don't have the most current version of IE on my PC and I use Firefox mainly. I had thought that maybe SSC was just hating on me, but now that I am able to get to it on my laptop, I am really wanting to get to it here on my PC as well.

I know questions like these have been asked before in this thread, but I'm not gonna read 50 pages to find them, and the search function didn't yeild any good results. Could someone please tell me why my PC won't load SSC in Firefox and IE ever and possibly how I can fix this problem, seeing as how I would like to be able to do things with SSC on my PC.

For eg., does bad behaviour on SSC warrant an auto ban on SSP? Or is the forumer just monitored tightly and then banned when any small sign of bad behaviour presents?

I have different names on both sites and have a feud with certain individuals on certain sites. Their name appears on both sites so is there any way without asking the person whether they are the same? On the other site they are a mod and this site they are a regular poster, so if I said something on this site there is nothing they can do but on the other site I could be banned.
