Yes, that is the "old" Ontario Hydro Building. Right now it's the ING Building.. They have a big sign you can see facing in the other direction at the top.

The view is looking south down 1st Street SE (Macleod Trail southbound), with the Harry Hays building (Government of Canada) under construction, and Chinatown to the right. I might be mistaken but the crane in the background must be for the Fording Building. At this time, the Calgary Tower (Husky Tower -- 1968) was the tallest structure in Calgary.

This view is essentially one block east of the last shot I posted, 32 years ago.

Thanks for sharing the great Montreal shots. I rarely see a view that is not from Mt. Royal so it is nice to see the different vantage points. :tup:
