almost no damage. It was not a tornado but a waterspout. They are extremely rare and are usually formed in places like Florida(tropical places).

About a dozen photographers from the local Flickr community went out to Mission Island Marsh to have a get-together and take pictures. I got over thirty mosquito bites! :( Here are a couple shots:

We took a detour on the ride home and threw some apples out for the deer (there was a group of about ten in someones back yard on the island) and they came right up so that we could take pictures. This was the best one I got. On a good day, they'll eat right out of your hand.

Petro Canada Tower. Current tallest in Calgary enjoying its last remaining days as #1!

Canterra Tower completed in 1988. I'm pretty sure this was one of the last buildings built before Calgary's Shadow bylaw. Tallest building we'll probably ever see this close to the river! (I may be wrong however!)

TD Canada Trust tower. This sucker was originally supposed to be 12 stories higher. I think it turned out just fine, but it does get lost in the skyline pretty easily.

Dome Tower (or is it Home Oil? I can never tell haha) is one of those buildings you rarely see because its flanked on all sides by giants like Bankers Hall, Scotia Centre, TD Canada Trust etc! I do like it though, makes me glad that most of the designs Calgary is getting this boom are far better then some of the junk the last boom brought about!

Love that building Adrian, but wow is it hidden in our town. You can't really see it significantly from any major vantage point. One of the better views of it is driving/walking south bound on Main. Too bad.

just saw on the news here in Vancouver - 8 employees are unaccounted for - but that doesn't mean they werer working could be at home and have not called to say so

and one fireman was sent to the hospital and he had no vital signs - aka probably dead :(

they said yorkdale mall was being or had been evacuated as they thought more propane could blow up
