New York Paris Hong Kong Polo Park? :haha:
You didn't know ? Oh yes...Polo Park is all the rage in Manhattan. The cabbies there are all saying things like "Hey buddy...you want to go to a real nice mall ? Well, if you drive west north west for the next four days...."
In Hong Kong they're screaming for hourly direct flights to Winnipeg. :haha:

The skyline is not one of KW's redeeming features, to be sure. But along King street in the downtown section, we do have a relatively continuous streetwall with only a couple parking lots left (one of which is about to be redeveloped). You'd actually be surprised at how many people are on the street at lunchtime on a weekday. For example:

KW is changing rapidly, especially the W. Waterloo's uptown, though small, is unrecognizable from even a 5 years ago. Their planning department also actually gives a crap, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some very positive and important improvements in the next decade.

Here are some pics of Vancouver's southern-most suburb of White Rock, right across the water from the US. The pics are a bit old (from April) but these views are pretty rare so I thought they were interesting. They're all from TotoLand_2007 at flickr.com who took them during a regatta.
I found these pics when looking for images of those two towers. They're White Rock's new tallest. Two more will be joining them in phase 2 of the same development and seven other towers have been proposed in the surrounding area ranging from 14 to 36 stories.

True, but the Shanghai West effect is pretty nice. :D
On this one (posted earlier by ErickMontreal), the distances are also skewed... it's a 10-minute drive between the near edge of downtown and the fat buildings in the middle right.

At the bottom of my hill there's a gorgeous cove i found today with unbelievale views of the entire Bedford Basin. I took many photos but I'll only post two here; one of them is the sunset over the Basin and the other is facing towards Halifax (in the far background there is two or three darker points which are the MacKay Bridge and Fairview Terminal Cranes)(all photos credit: me):

Loved the south Granville tour, entheosfog. It's such a great neighborhood. We went to Ouisi for my dad's birthday a week and a half ago when I was still in Vancouver. The food was amazing.

Nice photos! I like Dundas Square, they did a good job with it. I was in Toronto for a couple of weeks in August (coming back in October :D) and was down there more than a few times. I plan on applying to Ryerson later this year or next. :)
A note about scramble crossings - I'm living outside Denver, which has a strangely high number of them, most of which are in rather unwarranted spots, quiet intersections you're usually able to jaywalk at, anyway. This image alone has six:

WOW! the area looks so much busier than when I was there (3 months ago)
Toronto still has a long way to go, but New York, Tokyo and London's level is not impossible to reach in the future...
Does anyone have a good aerial view of the famous Peel/Ste-Catherine intersection?
It's hard to show the intense pedestrian traffic while crossing.
