it may be short but hydro is the largest in square footage in Winnipeg at 650,000 sqft

another great shot. the skatepark at the forks looks interesting. it's at the forks right? i'm no skateboarder but it looks like an interesting place none the less.

yes its at the forks but thats not at the skate park thats at the odena its a amphitheater and at salstice certan stars line up with it and its also used for native cerimonies
last summer during the writters festival they held a bunch of events there

can see the skate park here an the cranes for the cmhr and downtown behind and on the far right the scotia bank stage witch was built for the panam games and has many concerts in the summer

Here's few pictures from the Cambie Street party thingy that happened yesterday in Vancouver featuring a free concert by 54-40. The reason for the party was to signal the end of the construction that has been disrupting Cambie Street for the past couple of years for the Canada Line of the Skytrain.

Those are some great vancouver shots.

I love that mixed use development on Cambie St. looks so cool and attracted some very attractive retailers.

And the way those trees are blossoming just looks wow.

Cambie Street is a pretty great area for city dwellers. Now that it's more or less finished, it's much easier for those living in downtown condos and apartments to get to big stores like Costco, Canadian Tire, Best Buy, etc. In the past they involved a trip out to the suburbs (though I think the suburban stores are still cheaper).

Main Street is pretty nice too but my commute would be a little long.

Yep. It's possible that the Best Buy moved down, like some other stores did...?

Home Depot and Save On Foods are some other big ones, and having them all in one spot is convenient.

there was never a Best Buy on Broadway - there is a Future Shop on Broadway near burrard and one on granville at Robson

Best Buy started out in the burbs - this is the one and only in the city

There is also Whole Foods across the street from Save-on and London Drugs above the Whole Foods - plus around the corner is Office Depot, MEC and a lot of outdoor stores

Nice! I love Parc Jean Drapeau.. and the million gophers! Can't wait 'til Picknic Electronik starts up. How'd you get Biosphere to look like an egg? I went to Marie Reine du Monde for the first time about a month ago and took about 50 shots.

I like it, it's tidy and looks vaguely Scandinavian.

Some photos from yesterday's wildfire in Spryfield, a suburb of Halifax. They closed the roads down out there and several homes were burned. Downtown Halifax, Dalhousie University and such are ~6km from the fire, separated from the mainland by the Northwest Arm. We could easily see the orange glow at 10pm driving on the Bicentennial, and Bedford_DJ said it was visible from Bedford nearly 20km away.

It was actually a flare-up of the previous day's fire. In all it burned some 500 acres and damaged/detroyed dozens of homes.

Most of what I could see here in Bedford was smoke but from time to time orange glows were visible on the horizon.

According to the Municipality the fire was fueled by dry fallen wood from Hurricane Juan that was never cleared. The same applied for the Porter's Lake fire last year that burned an area three times as large.

Thankfully no injuries/deaths were reported with this. :)

Good pictures vid. The pano one looks really interesting - definitely get a feel of the area. Thunder Bay has a ridiculous amount of historical buildings - it's surprising :).

I took pictures of some Ferraris in Montreal a few months ago. I even rode one for a few minutes on the highway. AWESOME FEELING:D
