Thanks, but that seems like a task for a rainy day. I'm not the most savvy guy around, I only made the transition to digital in November. I'm still dicking around with settings and processing.. I've f-ed up so many shots!

You can also pay 5$ for a day by inserting your credit card. The first 30 minutes are free and after that, the rates go up from from 1.50 to 3 to 6$ for each additional half hour. The idea behind that is to get people to use it for short trips, drop it off, grab another when needed etc. There's a great deal where, if you subscribe to a monthly transit pass, you get a half-price BIXI membership and a huge discount on Communauto (car share) membership. It works out to 71$ a month for unlimited bus, metro and bike usage as well as free access to carshare (apart from mileage and hourly rate).

Vancouver has a had a few schemes involving bikes - at least two in recent years - one was vancity placed bikes somewhere and said use em and return em and none of them came back :haha: and than there was something similiar and again the bikes never came back

There are lots of thieves in Montreal! The bikes are equipped with GPS so they can't be stolen, and whoever lose one has to pay a 200$+ fee, taken directly from your bank account or credit card.

lol! I think that Montréal may be the bike-theft capital of the world. They'll try to steal it when you're stopped at an intersection!

People rent u-hauls for the night and tour around the city to collect on bikes. Apparently its common.

Once my old man got his bike stolen in broad day light outside the olympic stadium. The bike was locked on a parking sign pole, meaning the thieves managed to elevate the bike up 2.5m, unscrew the parking sign and safely lift the bike down...in broad daylight.


Also I would say 1/2 the bikes I ever owned were stolen. The Bixi will get savaged, mark my words.

I got shitfaced last week and left my bike very badly locked in the McGill ghetto. By the time I realized I had left my bike somewhere in downtown 2 days had passed, by the time I actually found the fucker almost 4 nights had elapsed, my bike my still there, without a single attempt mark on the lock. Sometimes you get laid, sometimes you don't....er sometimes you get lucky sometimes you don't....never mind.
