Holy Shit that is what the chief looks like from the top??? If I knew that I would have hiked the damn thing years ago. I'm actually planning on going this Sunday hopefully the weather is as clear as when you went.

^ Nice! I have never seen a sky like this. it was so spectacular.
i was at a dinner party on the 39th floor of one wall and the entire city was cast in red with streaks of lightning and dark clouds in the horizon. crazy! we rarely get a lightning storm so it was a hell of a treat.

That lightning storm / sunset was one of the most surreal things I've ever seen in my life. I was at Spanish Banks hoping to catch the fireworks but it was pissing so hard I ended up just going to a house party. Anyway some more crazy pics from flickr:

the sky was so amazing last night - i rode in from broadway on the skytrain and that part where you see the city against the sky was surreal - all the city was like dark and black against that intense orange sky with the occasional jolt of lightning - awesome

Why thank you for the kind words. The camera is nothing fancy, a 45-year old Canon 35mm that belonged to my grandfather. I was surprised I could take it out of the closet and use it immediately considering the amount of time it had spent in there, though (20 years or so.)

And to echo the comments of others, the Vancouver pictures posted on the last couple of pages are some of the best I've ever seen of the city! Great photography/excellent finds!

2 the steam clouds match up on the fort grry hotel with my shot
3 the lighting and haze match on the towers in osborn village
4 even though they lop the tower cranes out the hydro building is the same in that shot as it is in my shot
5 the shadows are the same

also ontop of cuting it out and croping they added some warmth to the white balance of the image witch is 8 images stiched together btw...

Comparing them together like this and I agree, the spacing between the buildings is 100% dead on, as are the lighting and shadows; these are things that would be difficult to match up by accident.

Hope you get fair compensation for this. I'm still fighting with AOL Money Canada for using one of my photos without permission. Stupid companies that don't understand copyright and licensing. Grr.
