alps I love that ski lift photo up top, is that at the Olympic park? Nice Edmonton & Vancouver shots too
edmontonenthusiast;4628418]Thanks very much wco and alps! Alps, if you're referring to my image, yeah it's a ski hill, called Edmonton Ski Club (never been myself). It's smaller than Rabbit Hill and Snow Valley, but I think bigger than Sunridge or whatever. And no, Olympic Park is in Calgary.
I think he probably was refering to this one EE - and yes it is Canada Olympic Park.

Most of the Zoo is open during the winter. sometimes it's the best time to see some of the animals. animals such as the lions and tigers, for example are more active in the winter.
The indoor exhibits like the Africa rain forest section, or the conservatory etc.. are year round.

Here are some photos of Victoria, all found on flickr.
The Falls is a new condo downtown on what used to be a large parking lot in a prominent location. There's actually a waterfall falling from the top of the building, if you can spot it.

^ Ah, you got the 50 prime after all, eh? What do you think so far?
^Haha, yeah, I forgot to tell you! I like it very much. It's good being able to take pictures around the house easily, I even tried outside at night, pretty good. The only downside I have is that I have to manual focus. Although unlike most, I do have good experience with manual focus, so I'm not getting too many (slightly) OOF pics or anything. Plus, I substitute the time I'd spend zooming for manual focusing. I'm glad I went with it over the 35mm, but now I'm thinking a 85mm would have been even better, as I like capturing things in the distance. Especially people photography, where I feel odd taking pictures up close, unless it is like a big crowd. But I am happy with my purchase overall.

I read the background article and it still doesn't explain the cross satisfactorily. I grew up Christian and even I find it offensive. It does give the impression that Christians are the only people accepted in the area.
Even though there seems to be some deep-seeded connection to the iconography for the East Vancouver area, the same could be said of the swastika in an ancient context, but its more modern connotation of Fascism would never be tolerated.
Additionally, if this "Art Installation" were in the shape of a Moon and Star I am sure it would be removed post haste.
I'm not a crank, but IMHO perhaps the installation could be rethought.
