I've never seen Quebec City from that angle... I had to look at it twice to be sure it was indeed the Quebec City region. Wish the pic had better resolution though.

Parcours Numérique was a series video mapping installations that ran through May until last Sunday. Some were interactive and you could 'play' with them through your phone. They were all accompanied by strange, somewhat eerie sounds and music! I missed a few along the way but since I waited until midnight Sunday.. oh well.

Nice photos. The industrial architecture in Toronto is interesting. There are some great old factories that have survived from around the 1880-1930 period. In particular I like the later ones like the building with the curved facade on Carlaw Ave.

The Danish ship Esbern Snare visiting Halifax. This is a pretty nice view of the skyline with the Dominion Building and Citadel ramparts in the background. Soon the TD building is going to be expanded and get new glass cladding, so this view will improve a bit. To the right there's another office building under construction but you can't quite see the crane in this shot.

Here's a nice photo of Prince Street in Halifax, taken by Jemsabell on flickr.
This is one of my favourite streetscapes in Halifax because of the older buildings, the hill, and the Citadel at the top. Along this street is the 1820 Mitchell House on the left, then the Bank of NS HQ on the right, Province House (1811, Canada's oldest legislature), St. Paul's (1750), Carlton House (1759), and the Citadel fortress.

Cool shot Someone123, I bet that hill is hell after a snow storm.
It's probably not a great spot to drive in, but there are lots of bad hills for that. My neighbours on one street flipped their minivan by sliding off of their hilly driveway. I thought it was pretty funny seeing the van perched upside down in some trees, but they probably did not agree. :)

I've been hearing a lot about Enbridge from Michigan media lately about an oil spill last year. It's been said it's one of the worst inland oil spills in american history. The NTSB investigation showed Enbridge knew about a pipeline break 5 years prior and failed to properly address the issue, I guess there are 25 state and federal lawsuits pending.
Nice pics btw, I like the TD building in the first pic.

Made it out last weekend. Stayed at a friend's place in Crescent Heights -- beautiful neighborhood, great location!
The city was electric! Enjoyed wandering the streets at night. 17th Ave felt right, as did Stephen Ave. Penguins at the zoo were cool. Boudoir Rouge was fun :haha:

Good stuff! Let's hope they did their best at cleaning up that mess in Michigan.
@ Ruckus, your pics are fantastic. I've always liked the Banker's Hall twins and the shot with them and EAP is great. Calgary's has such a great skyline.

A picture from Thursday that just passed. A bomb threat was called in from Windsor claiming there was a bomb inside the Detroit-Windsor tunnel closing the tunnel for 4 hours and snarling traffic.

No, it's the bridge that exits in a bad part of Detroit, the tunnel exits you right downtown next to the Ren Cen. The bridge exits in a rough neighbourhood, BUT there are interstate connections right at the exit as well so it's not that big of a deal depending on where you want to go.

That black office building is pretty impressive for a city of only 55 000
It was built in the 80s \i believe and then had a few more floors added in the 90s. Arch/Eng were Feild,Feild and Field.
There was plans for another tower but economics back then killed it and it was never revived.

I love the stock of old buildings in Toronto (and southern Ontario in general). It's amazing how much the architecture was different from Montreal buildings of the same age. Even the building materials are a little different.
The wealthy in Montreal during the 19th and early 20th centuries were mostly of Scottish origin (not actually English as is commonly believed). These merchants largely came directly from Scotland (although there was a concentration of loyalists in the Eastern Townships of Quebec). A lot of buildings in Montreal from that time period have a very Scottish look to them. It's remarkable looking at pictures of cities in Scotland and seeing some resemblances.
I'm wondering if the wealthy in Toronto/Ontario at the same time were more English? The architecture in southern Ontario definitely has more of an English feel to it.

I just got back from Scotland and you definitely notice it over there. The row houses around McGill (on Peel and in the Ghetto) are definitely Glasgow inspired.

If you get the chance to go up that way again, check out Alexandra Falls about a half hour north of the border. Its pretty impressive.
