I haven't heard about any height increases. I wouldn't put any money down on one ever coming for this project. Projects get height decreases in this city, not the other way around.

Sweeeeeet. A (somewhat) rare Canterra update!

Wow, that's a bit different perspective with the tower above grade now. With that northern section looking like it's as tall as it's ever going to be, the floorplate for the actual tower is surprisingly thin.

Jamieson looks pretty good from this angle, but I'm really not a fan of those vertical lines up the front. The new Keg looks good at street level.

Yeah, gotta agree the Westin did a nice job of renovating its ground level. Nice looking Keg. International Hotel had a nice reno too at grade. 4th ave is shaping up a bit better.

This design is not bad at all. Nice and contemporary and with enough distinguishing details to not make it another boring International style derivative. Cladding looks nice so far; it will be nice to see this one completed.

The great thing about Jamieson Place is that it is an adaption of a highrise design done by Frank Lloyd Wright. It was the only office tower Wright ever designed, but was never built.
This connection on its own will make this tower significant for Calgary. I am suprised the link is not more publicized.

Here is a link to the article for the FLW highrise that was to be built in New York in the 1920s.
This project was cancelled, but an adaptation of it went ahead in Oklahoma years later.
I have seen FLW sketches that are more similar to the final version of Jamieson Place, but cannot locate them right now.

Note the strong vertical elements, with multiple horizontal demarcations up the tower, not to mention the use of glass, which is waaay ahead of his time.

I didn't notice this before, but it looks like they are assembling the architectural element that will be on the mid-height mechanical floors. Judging by the renderings these will light up at night. The more I look at this building, the more I think it will look "meh" in the day but very nice at night.

Interesting tidbit, I saw some detailed plans for Jamieson and the original design allowed "vertical phasing" similar to the latest Bentall tower in Vancouver. The building could have been built in two phases, one for the first ~21 floors up to the mechanical floor and then the remaining ~17 floors in a second phase. Ultimately that did not prove necessary since the entire building was 100% pre-leased.

Considering Jamieson started a few months after Centennial, I am impressed at how quickly this one has gone up...leaving Centennial in the dust!
