Is this a the same "lifestyle center" that is also including a Wal-Mart?

Not anymore. The Wal-Mart is gone, and will be replaced by a Macy's.

Walmart and Sams were both listed, but lots of neighborhood opposition and now it is "announced" they will not be included. Thats ok there are already like 60 of them between BR and NO.

Well, I'm glad to hear that Covington is getting a Macy's. I think Macy's will do very well at this location. It's right on the interstate and, certainly, Covington/Mandeville have the demographics to support a full-fledged Macy's.

I'm a bit more skeptical...not about the potential success of such a development, but the fact that the interchanges off I-12 in Covington are already a pain-and-a-half for traffic.

You're right, traffic on 21 is already HORRIBLE, and it will only get worse with this massive development. But 21 will be widened to 5 lanes all the way from I-12 into downtown Covington, and 7 lanes directly in front of this development near I-12. Also, what used to be a rest stop on I-12 will be converted into a huge interchange and will become the main entrance to the development.
