is 92 just north of bayswater? if so, i stayed there for a while.

Kilgore Trout
Nov 24, 2006, 6:02 AM
yeah, 92 is right in the middle of bayswater, two blocks from the queensway on queensborough terrace. it was taken from the hotel at which we stayed.

thanks, guys. by the way, i forgot to note which photos were taken by laine, so i've edited the post.

WOW. I absolutely love these pics and how youve captured a real sense of place, the true multicultural, postmodern face of London, not the usual blinkered postcards of ye olde Cittie.

I love these pics, they kind of embody what London is to me

btw the building being demolished in the last pic was voted the 10th ugliest in the country.

Once again BRAVO, I can't stop looking at these, its what Ive always wanted to show to the world about the true face of London, and youve done it, so .

See, I was downtown today trying to act like Mr. Kilgore Trout, walking about and taking people pictures. But I doubt I pulled it off. I've come to the conclusion that Kilgore Trout and Chuck Norris have atleast 2 things in common: they both wait. It's like he's not even there when the camera clicks since the person hardly notices they've been photographed. It's like he sets up the camera and goes off to have a cup of coffee and read the news, and comes back to see what he's got.

Superb pictures, only the patient could get shots like that, KT.

How did you know where to look in London? You went on some very off the beaten path trails there, not the traditional visitors territory at all.

Kilgore Trout
Nov 29, 2006, 7:49 AM
research! i asked people on here and skyscrapercity and i also spent hours at the bookstore looking through travel guides -- lonely planet and rough guides, certainly, but also more esoteric ones like a guide to all of london's 350 public markets. in fact, the whole trip to dalston and stoke newington was based around a visit to the ridley road market. it's not exactly something that would interest most visitors but i absolutely adore street markets, especially ones as culturally diverse as that.

to be honest, though, five solid days of walking and especially going back and forth across down was extremely tiring. london is a huge city and next time i visit i will probably take it easier, with more aimless wandering and fewer marathon bus rides from notting hill gate to camden town.

Nice. 54 and 70 definitely look familiar. Are they Notting Hill per chance? I used to work over there. I could be way off base, but 63 looks like the Ladbroke area... Great job capturing the essence of London, as someone already noted #65 with the girl and her phone really scream London to me. I miss it terribly
