Gee, talk about copying Ottawa with the Inukshuks. ;) Nice pics.
Anyway, here's my opinion on Pearson as I've been to it a few times:
- T1: Great terminal, open and airy, could use some non-white paint to make it more aesthetically pleasing and less like a hospital.
- T3: Not a bad terminal either.
- T2: A complete and utter dump, this thing has got to go.
- Infield: Never been there.
All this said I must admit I avoid Pearson like the plague, ESPECIALLY when travelling to the US. First and foremost, pre-clearing US customs is a bloody nightmare due to the massive lines. Secondly, Air Canada's US-bound flights operate out of T2, meaning an annoying terminal change from T1 via Bus and time spent in the dump known as T2.
If I can't get there nonstop from Ottawa I ALWAYS connect through Chicago O'Hare on United. The entire O'Hare airport, especially the United terminal, is amazing ... and my experience with United has always been good too.

-I really don't think the Inukshuk is a trademark of any non territory city, so Ottawa should stop copying as well. Also look closely at that image, I think they are just photoshoped in, that or that guys legs are in the cement barrier.
-T2 is set for demolition
-The Airport is only 1/2 complete

I doubt they're photoshopped as I see no reason for that. The Inuksuk at Ottawa Airport was commissioned and sponsored by First Air, and I'm sure those in Toronto have a similar story.
-T2 is set for demolitionYes, I know. Good.

the platform the inukshuks are on is raised.. look at the left side and then look at the bottom right and follow the line to where the person is lying

It's not a platform it's a sidewalk. Look at the bottom how it mets the barrier and then follow it up, where are his legs going?

No, the Inukshuks are on platforms. You see where the platform ends on the left, as well as in a distance.

I've lived in Toronto for 13 years and in Hamilton for 5. I've never been to Pearson airport in my life. These are pretty much the first images I've seen that really gave me a feel for it. Looks pretty nice, but I have seen US airports (O'Hare as mentioned already) that completely out-do it. I was surprised to see the Monorail. I didn't think the airport had something like that.
With that said, I'd rather fly out of Hamilton if the flight path allows. Not as pretty but I'd be avoiding the incredible lineups that seem to be Pearson's thing.

thats changed a lot, the New Terminals are quite liked by almost everyone and are much more open. Termainal 3 has become much much much more open. Its a changed airport. It was a crappy Airport now its good and it is getting better. However the airport will continue to grow as there is more else really to get international flights to India and Asia in the local area. Remember there are atleast i think 1 million Asians and South Asians in the GTA i think atleast.

There are 1 million in the city of Toronto alone. the GTA would have more like (estimate) 2.5-3 million.

I can't stand the new T1. Talk about bland, designed-by-committee institutional...
I'm sure that the building is a pig to heat effectively with all that open space.
Lastly, every time I've been there, I've had to wait at least two full eternities for bags to show up on the carousel. What indentured union do you have running that circus?

I love the new terminal very much, but I'm with you on the ubiquitous "inukshuks". Enough already. Vancouver has gone crazy
for them.

Sorry you had such a tortuous wait. My bags were on the carousel within 10 minutes of arrival last night at Pearson, on return from Edmonton. Unfortunately, I can't say the same of my arrival at YEG (close to 30-minute wait). I would venture to say that neither experience is entirely representative of the norm.
Real nice airport . I was there this summer and took a ride from T3 to T1 on the new peoplemover while I was waiting.
Anyone see the Colbert Report last night? They used a photo from the new T1 to represent some airport in the US.
