View Full Version : Final FUTURE Render

OK, this baby's done... or rather, I'm done with this baby. Had a dozen or more mid-rises that could be added but enough already. Whoever talked me into extending the picture EAST (maybe I talked myself into it?) to accomodate the Hummingbird condo.... geeeeeesh. 20 buildings had to be made to gain that little bit more east of BCE that didn't exist in the base photo. Go easy on me about the new "slice" that was created... not perfect but it's a total "build" and at least the Libeskind is in there at last.

BTW, at a glance the render may not seem all that different but there are around a hundred changes, new buildings, improvements (better looking Sapphire for example... hey, why not? Something will get built there)... plus some hints of the future waterfront such as West 8 finger piers, HtO etc.

For folks who like to zoom in, I've included a link to a much larger pic. If you shrunk that fella down to print size, you'd get good results (probably close to 300 dpi).

At the end of the post I've included an old shot of Toronto that demonstrates nicely how we are doing on the "lots of parking lots" front. ;-)

Please feel free to share this on other forums (in fact I insist! I need the attention.) and be sure to emphasize that 98% of this is u/c or will definitely be built... this ain't no fantasy render.

I'll stick this in the Toronto compilation thread, because that's what this is in many ways.

Enjoy and happy holidays.

You are both welcome.

If we get really bored, this could be a great game of "where's waldo?", 'cause there's many little things that only a true T-dotter (with a helicopter) could find.

Cal, there's a little joke there for you. Good luck finding it (hint: better use the big pic).

in the first picture, to the direct right of ACC, what is that tall blue slanted bldg?

btw.....WOW!

Maldrive, with this 98% construction what year do you think Toronto will look like this?

401:

If you read the text, you'll see that the photo was extended to accomodate that building... Libeskind's Hummingbird condo.

When will Toronto look like this? 3-4 years tops. Sapphire (Harry) is the only iffy one. Most are u/c or will be soon.

it got approved at 48 stories, so it all up to the developer.

It is so amazing and so beautiful . Thanks so much for going to all the work to give us a feeling of what our city is going to look like.
Just one question- when I click on the high res link, the picture I get is quite
distorted looking.. is it supposed to be like that?

Looking good!

TB: I'll bet you forgot to click on the "distorted" preview to blow it up. Your mouse should turn into a magnifying glass... then click. Just save it to you desktop and then you open and zoom in as you like.

WZ1: did you try saving the link and printing? The pic is very big so if you "size to fit" when you print, the 72 dpi will print like 300.

Or did you want something even bigger?
