It sure is a fascinating city so full of life and history. I'd love to go back.
It's been over 10 years now since I spent 1 month there.

That's definitely the Cairo I know. Huge, noisy, smelly...yet filled with an incredible streetlife and something new and exciting to discover around every streetcorner. Great photos! Thanks for sharing!

I've never been, but it does look alive with activity and dense with millions of folks. Not the prettiest city I've ever seen (though those 2 residentials with the trees look attractive), but it looks exciting. Thanks for the pics, and I'm sure we'll be seeing more from ya. :D

Looks very modern. ;) (actually, though I was just joking, Cairo does look more modern than I expected)

Cool thread ! And which reminds of me fond memories about this fascinating and ancient city four years ago - I really miss Cairo and hope to revisit it someday ......

Looks like quite a bustling city with a unique beauty all of its own. I love that shot with the pyramids in the background. Now that's what I call historic architectural variety. I wonder if I'll ever make it to this city one day? I sure hope so.

This is candy for sure--Cairo looks like on big jungle of craziness. Thanks for giving me my jollies for the evening.

The safest big city, crime wise, in the world. The people there are so wonderful.

Talk about density, what an amazing city. Looks like it would be very easy to get lost among the sea of buildings.

I think I would be overwhemled with the sense of history seeing a view like this in real life.

sweet cairo pictures, i wish i had found some of those tree lined streets when i was there...would have been nice to have some shade. cairo felt incredibly safe considering size, poverty, and whatever else. kinda weird the first day or so to feel so many eyes watching me, but i guess as a white guy with blonde hair i was never gonna 'blend in' anyway. never threatening it seemed, just interested

Very nice. Cairo really needs to work on its pollution and traffic problem. I was reading that back in the 90s Cairo was gaining on average 1,500 people a day.

Haha, yes I was really glad I wasn't blond like my best friend. People wanted to take pictures with her and touch her hair all the time, it was rather uncomfortable for her as she is very shy.

I'd really like to see pictures of a normal middle-class resedential neighboorhood.
When I was there for 4 weeks, I lived in Dokkhi. It's a shame I didn't take many pictures.

Of course there's a lot of pollution in Cairo but the whole yellow colour is because of the sand, it's never going to go away.
