Maybe it's me, but the pictures of the interior look pretty bland.

Well, it's a football stadium, what more can you do to it?

That might be the first time I've heard anybody describe any part of that stadium as "bland".

Awesome stadium, but the playing field is too tight at the corners and too narrow for soccer. It must barely comply with the required measurements (if it does).

FIFA was involved in the stadium design...

Mark Williams, associate principal at Dallas-based HKS Architects, which designed Cowboys Stadium, said that from the start, the plan was to make the structure "FIFA-friendly."

Williams, whose soccer experience includes working with clubs in England and Mexico, said FIFA's minimum field specifications are 330 feet long and 210 feet wide. Cowboys Stadium can easily be configured to accommodate that standard.

"Lots of venues can't squeeze in the layout of a soccer playing surface," he said. "Some didn't think of it. Some chose not to fit it in. We made sure the pitch layout of our playing surface would fit."

I have not looked to see if this has been mentioned, but are they going to raise the scoreboard from its current position? Punters could easily hit that thing from where it is right now.

I could have saved ol Jerry a lot of money...

Punting Issue at Cowboys' New Stadium

A quirky issue arose with the Dallas Cowboys' palatial new $1.2 billion stadium during Friday night's preseason game against the Tennessee Titans:

The massive video board hanging over the field is low enough to be hit by punts....

I've heard and read from multiple sources (starting with Brad Sham doing the game's play by play on the radio), that the board was lowered for the Paul McCartney concert two nights before the game and because of the cost in moving it, wont be raised again until the U2 concert after which time the board will be set at it's "football height" which is supposedly 20 feet higher than it was the other night.

That stadium is gorgeous!

I wish Calgary would build something like that but it will never happen.

Hope to get down to Big D sometime soon!
