If you think abandonment and car stripping is bad now... this is Detroit in the roaring 1920s!!! :haha:
The caption says it's on Grand River between Harrison and National. I wonder if the theives took all of the cooper?

I looked the area up on google, and I can't find a national, and Harrison now dead ends before you get to Grand River. It looks like where that building once stood has been redeveloped years ago with a highrise apartment building. That is an odd pic though, because Detroit was really booming in the 20's.

I remember a while back on DYes Jjaba mentioning that the city renamed "National" sometime ago, however I don't remember the thread.

I guess these guys on Woodward & Stimpson were angry that White Castle couldn't satisfy their crave. Seriously, these are pictures from one of the often forgetten race riots (two occured in the 1940s), where it was white rioters against backs.

How Detroit Police destroyed Marijuana in the old days. Notice the little kiddies standing downwind.

You think drugs are bad in Detroit now, this is 1930's Detroit open Marijuana crop being discovered by Police.

Cars were quite heavier back then. Especially Lincolns. Gotta give 'em some credit.
