Construction began this week at Rice University's Collaborative Research Center. The building will have 477,000 square feet of space for Rice's bioscience and biotech centers and will be operated in conjunction with several Medical Center institutions. Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill designed the building with Linbeck providing construction.
The building will be LEED certified and have 10,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space facing Main St. The parcel sits on Rice's campus on the corner of Main St at University Blvd. It will have 3 levels of underground parking and an interior courtyard that faces the university to the West.
