Hartford 21 - a new 36 story tower with 262 luxury apartments as well as retail and office space. The complex is the new home of the YMCA downtown and will house downtown's first real supermarket - Bliss Market. The retail and office space will front Trumbull and Asylum Streets. The project was built on the site of the Hartford Civic Center Mall. The Hartford Civic Center is still there and has been renovated along with the Hilton Hartford Hotel Downtown.

The new CT Convention Center and Marriott Hartford Hotel Downtown both at Adriaens Landing at the edge of downtown along the CT River. Adriaens Landing is a billion dollar redevelopment project that includes a convention center, hotel, new science center (under construction) and Front Street. Front Street is the retail/residential/entertainment component of the project and will include extra space for the Wadsworth Atheneum.

The new Capital Community College which opened up in the former G. Fox & Company Department Store. At its height G. Fox was the largest department store in New England and one of the largest in the nation. The store closed in 1993 and in 2000 the building was renovated and a community college, offices and new retail tenants including a popular nightclub opened.
