View Full Version : Holden West goes Victoria to Vancouver by floatplane

Holden West
Dec 29, 2006, 5:45 AM
Click here (http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=122499) to see my recent floatplane return trip from Victoria's Inner Harbour in the heart of Downtown to Vancouver Airport.

The aircraft was a float-equipped DeHavilland Turbo Beaver (date of manufacture 1956) belonging to Harbour Air (http://www.harbour-air.com/home/index.php) of Vancouver.

Free Bonus Pic! :) As our plane was taxiing out, another Turbo Beaver from Seattle's Kenmore Air arrived. You can tell the Turbo Beavers from the original piston engine Beaver (http://www.deltaweb.co.uk/haf/images/beaver.jpg)s by the extended nose. The three-bladed propeller keeps the noise down somewhat for the neighbours:

Thanks, and enjoy!
