Tacoma's newest housing complex, Court 17, is a public/private development with a five-story, 128-unit apartment building and a three-story, 309-car parking garage.

Love the brick.

309 parking units seems a bit much though.

Much of the parking is for the UW, who owns the garage.

This is a great project. Very attractive. It'll be great to see the Northwest's most emptied-out neighborhood (uphill from UW and convention center) revive as more projects are built. Most notably, one developer is probably about done with Phase I of a similar project that will cover almost three whole blocks.

My sister just moved to 17th and Fawcett. Went there for her NYE party.

Was really blown away by the amount of vacant buildable land in that neighborhood. The views from some of the properties near the top of the hill are pretty amazing.

Pretty nice apartment building. Getting the UWT down there was a majorly good thing. Now we need some little tech companies and other stuff to move in and then get more housing then more and taller buildings.

I love the Stadium District. Yeah, the Hill Top area has so much charm and potential. I especially love the area on Tacoma Avenue just south of 11th Street. There are many great old homes and sprawling areas of grass, but the perch over the University of Washington (Tacoma) and the other older industrail buildings is incredible. My fingers are crossed for Tacoma. Is Hillside Quickie's still up there? They got their start on Hill Top.
