Justin Chapman used modified parts of my drawing of the Maintower (Frankfurt) for his drawing of Westin Peachtree Plaza (Atlanta).
My drawing: http://www.skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=3913&drawingID=13321 _____ his drawing: http://www.skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=253&drawingID=16615
This is a clear offence against the illustrator rules!

I dont see any copying.
Similiar yes - but nothing else.

What?!?! He just reduced the floor height to 3 Pixels instead of 4! Even the lighted area on the top can be seen and the sunlight reflection is exactly the same - that's definitely not just a coincidence! He took it from my drawing .

Anna- You need to read the rules of illustrating then. It is a serious issue. An illustrator's work is copyrighted. This is a problem.

Yes - there is enough similarity to warrant questioning it. It will be investigated.

I think diagrams under investigation should be taken off the primary until it's all cleared up.

I messaged Buck about this.
I'm an honest man, and yes, I used part of the window's of his drawing to make mine :( I copy pasted a tiny sliver of one floor to make all of them. That was the first time I have ever done anything like that, and I truly apologize. I have been new at making round buildings, and wanted to make this diagram as fantastic as possible. Other than that, I have no clue why I did it... perhaps it was just tempting, I don't know. But yes, I'm guilty as charged.
I would like to apologize to the Editing staff, Jai-C, and all the other illustrators for doing this. I've been here over three years and I really should have known better, and I realize that there will be a punishment, and I will take what I deserve.
To counteract and remidy this, I have made a replacement, completely done by myself. It's probably not as good, but I gave it a try, and this one is done by honesty.

Hurray - common sense wins :)
But I must mention that there's something about SPE's drawings that attracts and tempts people. ;) I personally looked at many of SPE's drawings to analyse and try to reproduce that awesome and unreachable shading/glare.
I know I'll repeat what 100's of people asked before - What's your secret? How do you do it? What are the guidelines for creating that shading?

Shouldn't I keep it secret ;)
Now I'm pleased with you guys being interested in my drawing technique. But telling someone how you draw is something that can't be done within a few sentences. I'd have to write a whole tutorial - but this takes a lot of time...
I already did one some months ago and at the moment I am working on a new one. Unfortunately I wrote it only in german, but when it's finished I'll translate it for you and post here :)
