Come October 2008 the skyline of Lubbock will be different with the addition of a new luxury hotel building. The president of the development company responsible said that the new Lubbock Hotel and Conference Center will be the premiere hotel and conference center in North Western Texas.

This new hotel will stand 15 stories into the Lubbock skyline. The adjoining conference center will be 60,000 square feet with a 12,000 square foot ball room. There will be 304 rooms and 350 parking spaces to accommodate guests. All of this and more will make this new hospitality center 237,000 square feet.

The president of Garfield Traub Development, Raymond Garfield said, "It's going to be great for business travel here, it's going to be great for families that come here to visit their kids at Texas tech. I think it's going to give folks an opportunity to select a quality of stay and experience that they just haven't had in the high plains area of Texas."

Awesome!

For reference, here's Lubbock's skyline. Do you know where this is going up? I read that the location is the northeast corner of Sixth Street & Avenue X. Where would that be on the skyline?

The skyline looming over Lubbock International Airport.

It would fill the void between downtown and ttu. Its part of a revaitalization in overton park area. The location is going to be next to the new freeway and behing the new wal-mart. That area is the definition of reviatlization, I would have never saw this coming 5 yrs ago.

That's exciting. Lubbock's actually got a good sized secondary skyline outside of downtown. This will definitely add to it.

Hey cool! I love those panhandle skylines, and this should be a great addition to Lubbock's. I need to get back out there on the estacado again-- a good place for aimless driving.
