I've been focussing on the westside of Atlanta lately, partly to bring my blog into better balance (since I live in East Atlanta I tend to be eastside centric) and because I'm over that way a lot lately. I have a few hundred photos queued up and several blog entries I'm working on concerning that part of the westside bordering the Chattahoochee.
The first blog article and photo album I've uploaded is on Hollywood Cemetery, and can be found at http://larryfeltonjohnson.typepad.com/atlantalarry/2007/01/atlantas_hollyw.html

Good work. This area is seeing a lot of development, and I hope the cemetery will get some attention. Are any areas being maintained? Are there current interments?

When I researched it a few years back I was told that Magnolia Cemetery, an adjoining perpertual care cemetery owned Hollywood Cemetery. Some of my photos are of maintained plots, but the boundaries between the maintained portions (presumably Magnolia) and the overgrown section (Hollywood) aren't very clear to me. I've heard recently (although I haven't verified it) that Lincoln Cemetery bought it and renamed the active perpetual care section. I'll be pulling together info over the next couple of months.
Any family owning plots could bury their family there, but my understanding is that no plots could be sold commercially unless perpetual care were arranged, which is unlikely at the moment.
