Very nice! I will say the picture of the Lufthansa 747 and the St. James was rather unsettling to look at...
But...how cool is it that the bums of Philadelphia wear Chaps by Ralph Lauren?!!
Excellent photos of an excellent city!

Looks like a UPS 747 freighter ;) Gio is all about the sneaky airplanes in the skyline shots...
So many favorites in this one...I love the zoom of the dude taking a breather with his chopper on the hospital roof. Could he be kickin' it any closer to the edge of the helipad??

Holy snappin' arseholes. I'm stunned. Ya gots the talent at top notch level here my friend. Waaay too many to pic out for praise. I was wondering about 2 things. When did Cornell University start a construction school branch in Philly? Can you photoshop out that furry rascal leaning into the beautiful skyline shot?
Thank you kind sir.

That's definently a UPS 747... believe me, I know
Solid work as usual, gio. That shot with the homeless guy and the silhouette of a family is very interesting. I also like the shot with the girl in pink looking at the camera.. along with the eye candy to the right hehe.

HEY HEY HEY
i always did say that the urbiesnerdy knows his planes.
pj3000: pimp my wife is even better at 8 in the morning.
buckley: the university of pennsylvania's health system is expanding, and that construction is the rafael viñoly designed center for advanced medicine.
plinko: i got friends in high places.
ithacan: that hirsute so-and-so shows up when i'm shooting from time to time and insists on hamming it up.
xing: come on by homie, we'll show you a good time.
upward: thanks buddy. (more for the lens recommendations but also for the good word.)
ken: that rally is known as THE MUMMERS!
flash: comcast center's steel still has over 200' or so before it's topped out, so when it's finished it's going to completely dominate the skyline.
tower: i did have a chink's steak. i must say, i was a little disappointed. generally speaking, the loud and proud racists i've encountered are excellent cooks.
relnahe: good eye there. that's from albert einstein medical center in olney, one of my favorite perches in the city.
EVERYBUDDY: thanka very much.

tony, i think that sounds like a grand idea.
all this talk about biguns ... this dude i knew in high school formed a ska band in the 90s called "the biguns" that was pretty decent, but i think their hand drawn "biguns" bumper stickers were more popular than their CDs.

Kind of OT, but aren't the two tallest buildings supposed to symbolize the brothers in the city of brotherly love? What about after the comcast tops off?
Also, they're raising the old building? Just playing..

So the first time I looked through this thread, the shot of the old Mercury was bugging me. I couldn't stop thinking about it, and not just because it's a kick ass pic (which it is). I thought it looked familiar but I couldn't figure out why. Then it hit me. That goofy corner where Poplar turns into New Market.
See diagram A.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k287/Eigenwelt/Misc/diagramA.jpg
And finally, as great as all of these pictures are, I think my favorite is the one I missed the first time through. The echoing of the arch in the Tacony-Palmyra/Billiards shot is subtle but excellent.
