Within this fence resides one of the most underrated airports in the nation. I am about to give you an all-access pass to the runways, ramps, and airplanes that frequent one of the 50 busiest airports in the US. Sound exciting? I promise you, you will never see photos like this again from here, so get in now and enjoy it while you can. Security is tight, and rightfully so. But this thread will give you access to the most exciting side of an airport, the flight side. Step on in and enjoy the ride. See how this airport was able to raise itself from the ashes of being a hub for American Airlines in the 90's to a Focus City for Southwest Airlines today. See how it was able to bring its passenger numbers up from the low 6 and 7 millions to nearly 10 million today. All photos are from my website (linked in my signature) and are cleared for viewing. LOL!! Enjoy.

Great shots, Lexy! And now with the new camera you can most likely get some shots up at a.net as well (if you haven't already, that is!). :)

One notable difference between smaller European airports and American ones is the (lack of) precense of wide-body jets at the american ones. I don't know how many annual passengers BNA sees, but I'm sure it's more than the airport in my hometown MMX which only has about 2 million annual pax, and is located some 30-40 km from giant CPH Int., and still sees it's fare share of B747, MD-11, A330 and B767! Mostly tourist charter and cargo jets though.

Yeah, domestic services in the US are thin on widebodies. Check out Part 3 for the widebodies here though. BNA sees its fair share of them.

FWIW, KBNA had nearly 10 million passengers last year and they are expected to surpass that number this year.
