i was born and raised in BC but went to college for two years in ontario - it was quite interesting there - other than that I have lived in a few places in BC - mainly NE BC, mid-vancouver island and the lower mainland

one of the things that i felt or thought when i moved to Ontario was how "American" it felt yet totally Canadian and historical on the other hand

it was also werid to get used to the idea of coming across proper little towns in what you would expect to be nothing in comparison to their location or small population - small out of the way towns in BC are just that - nothing - maybe a corner store or two, a gas station some houses etc. no sense of town at all

albertan towns were about 1000-5000 very different from the small towns out here which rarely go above 1000, never mind 1500.

fanny Bay is 744 spread out over 50 square kilometers, so even thoguh we are actually fairly high pop for small town BC, we feel isolated due to a lack of density.

Windsor is an American city, it just doesn't know it yet (as is the most of South Western Ontario). I have witnessed hockey games being turned off for football; they measure the temperature in fahrenheit and distance in miles… It’s scary…

so, i've noticed that a good deal of us "Westerners" have lived in all 3 of Western Canada's big 3 cities (Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver), and usually move to them from smaller centers (ie: Saskatchewan). we also tend not to veer east too much. But all you easterners (moreso specifically Nova Scotians and Newfoundlanders) come here, of course thats not going by the forumers, thats going by the people i associate/work with with outside of the internet.

whats the draw with the west? i mean really? we have oil, mountains, snow, cold weather, and priaires just like the rest of the country. its gotta be the taxes....

Wow, I can imagine! I don't even know where Wallace is and I'm usually the one telling people where the smaller towns are and how big they are, and I was born and raised in Nova Scotia (well, Cape Breton so technically NS). :koko:
