There has been talk about this for a while and this is probably the first news story to confirm.

Man I hope the put a store downtown, or at least sub-bench. I'm gonna be seriously bummed if they only build one and it's in the burbs or in West Boise.

Speaking of fancy groceries, when's the Whole Foods supposed to start construction?

That would be great! I love Trader Joe's! Now then, I am with the sentiment to build it near DT or the bench area, since the missus and I are talking about moving there in the next 2-3 years........:D

Boise is an obvious fit for these organic/natural food stores. But, the Boise Co-op will always be the better natural food store in my opinion mainly because it is local and emphasizes the local organic products from the many organic hobby farmers in Idaho and the Treasure Valley. Whole Foods and Trader Joes are both nice stores and the Co-op needs some competition anyways.
