View Full Version : What City do you represent?
| | |
Interesting to see what city has the most forumers (is that even a word?) on this board.
If I left your city out, I apologize...I'm kinda just going by the cities which seem to have threads.

I can't really say that I represent Edmonton since I am still new to the city, so the obvious choice for me is Winnipeg; go Transcona! :haha:

Hopefully no one has any issues with the cities I chose t. I do apologize if I missed one I maybe shouldn't have.

There are way too many cities in Canada to represent, although it would have been nice to have Brandon on the list lol ;)

Hmm, isn't that some sort of personal attack?
I did include those cities...you can find them located under the "Other" option.
Why didn't I include those places? Well, let me see...the last time anyone posted in the Sherbrooke thread was threee weeks ago. That tells me something.

What about those of us that represent multiple cities? I currently reside in St. Louis, but will be back in Edmonton soon and I stay in touch with Regina. I've also lived in Winnipeg, Ottawa, and Saskatoon, but I do feel closet to Edmonton and I frequent the Edmonton forum the most.

No issues with the choices, but I chose "other" for myself since I represent Sydney more with ongoing developments than I represent Fredericton where I am now. For photothreads, I like to think I represent all of the Maritimes (though I still have to do a proper thread of Halifax/Dartmouth...especially Dartmouth side since it doesn't get enough exposure on here).

yes I do, but i visited quebec and close areas and, I'm sorry to tell, those places are so much better then here... those places seem like a fairytale, even in Italy we don't have such kind of beauty... so go Quebec! especially the northern shore of St. Lawrence river, they have mountains and ocean together, and nice little villages with nice little churches, and while you drive all of a sudden you see the ocean in the horizon.
My next trip i want it to be Gaspè peninsula and Nova Scotia, i want the ocean:yes:

You moved to if I'm not mistaken.
Because things aren't going too good right now, and it helps get my mind of it. :) We make fun of ourselves every once in a while to kinda make fun at how hopeless things seem sometimes. Things are actually starting to improve though. But if you've ever been to Thunder Bay, it's a pretty backwards, boring place. We do have positive attributes, but they're greatly overshadowed by negative attributes at this point.
As for the Suds-bashing, well, it's only the truth. :) Sudbury sucks.

I still prefer Lakehead. Thunder Bay looks cool on signs, but at this point is has too much negativity attached to it. (Blunder Bay, Tundra Bay, etc.) Lakehead reflects on the regions glory days, when the city actually played a major role in Canada's economy. In fact, had Winnipeg not existed, The Great Canadian Lakehead City would have well over half a million people. :)
Hehe, a couple years ago, someone changed all the signs at LU to say 'Bakehead University'

We have lots of jobs. Particularly in trades, as Alberta has sucked all the skilled people out of the city.
Considering our bad economic situation, only about 7.5% of the city is unemployed.

The borscht I like the best is the type I used to eat in Winnipeg. Thick like a stew. Is that Ukrainian or Jewish? Polish borscht is completely clear like a broth as they painstakingly strain out all the good stuff. I like a chunky borscht with sour cream.

I am not entirely sure, as there seems to be a million and one recipes for Borscht. Ukrainian and Russian Borscht are more similar to each other, with beets as a standard in addition to potatoes, cabbage, and onions. However you can also add sour cream and tomatoes, which the Wiki at least says is more Ukrainian (and it might be right, as my gramps grew up on a Ukrainian farm here in Alberta growing beets and tomatoes, among other things).
But wow, this is way off topic. Oh well, it's not like the thread was going anywhere in particular. Hijack accomplished! :)
