Erosion from the ocean (False Creek) you mean? I had to look at an aerial to figure it out, but those aren't waterfront units, and that's not False Creek in the foreground. It's a giant puddle in a lot on the south-east corner of 1st Avenue and Columbia.

False Creek is a completely sheltered body of water. The wake of passing dragon boats would be about the most significant source of erosion along the waterfront.

Btw thanks entheosfog for the updates.

Also Caltrane Maple Leaf Square looks like it's really starting to come together now.

Ugh this makes me livid! Here were three perfectly good houses that got torn down. Sure whatever. Then they kicked everyone out of the apartment and were going to tear it town and build something on both sites. Now the apartment building is getting recognized as a heritage structure so at least that's good but now I'm sure the whole project for this site is on hold now. So a perfectly good and livable apartment sits vacant for years and years! grrrr...

Work is ongoing for the One Cole condominium project in Toronto, Ont. Daniels Corporation has completion of the project scheduled for the end of 2009 and the work includes one nine-storey building with 92 units and one 19-storey building with 201 units.

One Cole Team

The One Cole condo project in Toronto consists of two buildings that be connected by a one-storey podium. There will also be retail, a fitness centre, café bar and lounge. The project was designed by Diamond & Schmitt Architects Inc. and Graziani + Corazza Architects Inc. Consultants are: Sigmund Soudack & Associates Inc. (structural) and LKM Consulting Engineers Inc. (mechanical/electrical). Subtrades include: Faga Group-Polvian Construction Ltd. (drainage); Edvac Contracting Ltd. (formwork); Cooltech Air Systems Ltd.; Speedy Electric Co. Ltd.; University Plumbing & Heating; C & A Tedesco Waterproofing; Toro Aluminum (glass/glazing); and ThyssenKrupp Elevator Ltd.

Toddglen Construction began the nine-storey, 200-unit project in March 2007 and it will include a fitness room, pool, library, and two levels of underground parking. The project was designed by Atkins Architects Inc. Consultants are Y + V Engineering Ltd. (structural) and CBM Engineering Group (mechanical/electrical). Subtrades include: Lions Group Inc. (excavation); Anchor Shoring & Caissons Ltd.; Linton Steel (rebar supply); Innocon Inc. Wtf! How in hell do you fit 200units into a 9 story building?? Eastern Canada and their massive floor plates.

25 units per floor is pretty typical for a midrise development especially in the downtown area. They are even a few with 40 units per floor around.

That's insane. Most 30 story condos around Vancouver are between 200-300 units. Judging from only that pic I would have guessed that building had 80-100 units at most.
