I drove to Memphis from Atlanta last weekend and stopped off in Nashville to see Vanderbilt. I had been there once before to tour the law school. While the law school is rather boring, the rest of campus is great.

Gorgeous campus. You're right though, the law school is a little shabby. lol

I have to defend my law school now. If you take time to step inside, they actually did a great job with the renovation. That angle you took isn't much. But, the glass wall on the north side overlooking the quad as is the entry way. The interior is a combination of the old 60's-style with modern additions. For a law school, it is actually quite nice and breaks from the traditional hall model. I might suggest you tour some other ones to realize just how much of a gem Vandy's law school really is in both style and facilities.

I have toured the inside of the law school. Of all the law schools I toured, Vanderbilt's facility was indeed one of THE nicest. Very clean, well designed and high quality. I was very impressed with the inside. You're absolutely right that there are many law schools that are just dogs on the inside. My law schools classrooms are nasty, i wish they were as nice as Vandy's. But the library itself is a great design. I just think that Vanderbilt's architectural design is just kinda plain. But, it's better to be a bit more plain and conservative and very nice, than just a concrete box and nasty (see USC, BYU etc.)
