Here are some pictures of the projects under construction in downtown San Jose.

First off, the city hall has a nifty little model of downtown redevelopment.

One East Julian: 43 units

We all know how horrible European cities are with their lack of skyline, so we can cool it with the height limit comments.

forget height limits, the kind of limit cities really need is block size limits. nothing kills an area quite like a superblock.

You know, that's a great observation about DTSJ. The walk from my office to the bars is exactly half a mile but it seems to be unbearably long. I attribute this to the streets that are 6 lanes wide, cars that routinely travel at 45+mph down the unnecessarily wide streets, and downright offensive buildings that shun the street and anyone using it.
