My little tour to East London yesterday

A rough map of the places pictured (area circled in red). It's actually been the first time I walked in this area and I discovered something new :)

Great !
That's a nice suggestion for a future trip in London.

So, how long would it take to make that walking tour ?

Areas around Thames are very beautiful and if you want to see everything (I mean all the way from Tower Bridge to Greenwich and Canary Wharf) in both sides it would take at least one full day or even more. And this one I made yesterday takes about 3-4 hours.

Nice pics again, John.
Even though these areas do not enjoy as nice a reputation as other parts of London, they still look pretty good - more than I expected, i guess.

But, my God, Canary Wharf never seemed more bland to me than now - after my trip to Quebec (after Montreal, second largest city of Quebec province) last month - even it has more original highrises than CW.

Srbija(CG), I think Canary Wharf is rather similar to Toronto: boxes, boxes and boxes. Not that I would dislike any of it ;)

That water looks clean. LOL....jk.

Anyways nice pics. Looking at those photos make me miss London. I was born in London, but now living in the states. I got to go back last September to visit family. The city itself has change alot with all the new skyscrapers being build. Nice to see they kept Big Ben and Tower Bridge. :haha:

It's a fascinating part of London to walk around, some really cool areas around Shoreditch and Wapping.
Canary Wharf is a bit bland, but controversially exciting in conservative London which is not known for adventurous architecture. The Eye and the Gerkhin are about as cutting edge as it gets but it's just a shame the Gerkhin is so low and gets lost in a huddle of not so impressive blocks.

i am going in a week and was thinking of doing this walk myself so thanks for the inspiration. looks like you got all the way from tower bridge to canary. do you really think you can get all the way to greenwich in 3-4 hrs? if so that wouldnt be too bad a morning jaunt.
