Comment: Being from Littleton all I can say is perhaps Dave Barry was too kind in his evaluation of Tom Tancredo. Tom Tancredo's comments regarding Miami were idiotic at best. Instead of continuing with the idiocy he should perhaps apologize for his insensitivity. "Usted es un moron ignorante" - You are Rep. Tom Tancredo.

Comment: Bill, I hope God grants you your wish. Then you and the other white-bread suburbanites in Tancredo's district can look forward to doing some real work for a change. And instead of having to make the difficult choice between sending your kids to Europe or riding lessons this summer, you can send them out to lay bricks 12 hours a day. Viva Tancredo for a more prosperous America!

Comment: 'Scuse me fool. I have to take issue with your childish assertion that we in Tancredos district need to do some "real work for a change." I for example, have carried hod for bricklayers for 12 hours a day, and bailed hay, and washed dishes, and swept floors, and framed houses before I put myself through college and got my "cushy" 90K a year job. I know hard work and my neighbors know hard work. If youd like to get ahead just like all us "White-Breads" then try getting an education and doing a little work yourself. Then you wont have to be jealous of what we EARNED. Till then STFU.

Comment: Why does the Post want to keep piling on with Tancredo. All the guy's ever tried to do is to keep all of us from getting our pockets cleaned from the cost of illegals - what's so wrong with that? Do you think that just because the cost isn't an easily identifiable line item in your checkbook that you aren't payin it?

Comment: The post has to keep piling on Rep. Tancredo because it is one thing to stand firm against illegal immigration but it is another to call a United States city a third world country. That is ignorant and unacceptable. Also, if you expect to run for the President of the United States, you better get used to being dissected for the irrational and insensible remarks you make.

Comment: The funny thing is that the largest immigrant communities in Miami are made up of LEGAL immigrants, such as those from Cuba, Colombia, and Argentina. Miami's illegal problem is nothing compared to cities like Los Angeles and Texas bordertowns.

Comment: Pro-illegal activists are usually those who live in rich white neighboorhood knowing about illegals only from latinos serving them. Their neighboors are all white and they are far away from shootings happening on the streets. Their logic is : illegals are good, because they mawn my lawn and wash my dishes and do it quetly.American workers would sue me already twice.

Comment: Just like children on a playground all the "cool" kids are piling on Tancredo. Why? Because he tells the truth. We all know the truth is VERY unpopular in this age of the Racial Shakedown for fun and profit. Dr. King said he dreamed of the day when a man would be judged by the content of his character. I am sorry to report Dr. King that your dream is still just that, a dream. For the character of someone who would enter our nation illegally, flaunt the violation of our laws, the DEMAND respect to boot is never in question. In this upside down world of anti-logic, lawbreakers are the heroes and truth tellers are the bad guys. So jump on the bandwagon, kiddies! It will surely make you more popular. And we all know being popular is more important than being right.

Comment: I think being proud of your city is one thing, but generalizing another city to attack one person is immature. I think some of Tancredo's comments must have hit a sore spot (even if I don't agree with them). Don't let him get to you and don't take it personally. Last of all, DON'T show it! I think Tancredo makes outrageous remarks more to get a reaction and spur debate than to say anything he really means. And no, Tancredo doesn't represent suburban Denver. By the way, when people think of football, they don't think of Miami, no matter how many superbowls are held there.

Comment: Once again, the truth is touted as wrong. The Super Bowl will NEVER be held in Denver because of new Super Bowl rules, regardless of how great a city Denver is. The rules require the temperature of a hosting city to be average above 60 in January. Never happening here. Tom Tancredo is right. And the same could be said for LA, Houston as for Miami. There are so many illegal immigrants in parts of those cities that there is no difference between there and other Latin countries, except the great economy that the US provides. When does illegal not reall mean illegal? When you an illegal immigrant. Don't mind if you come illegally, but if you're here illegally, then that's a problem because YOU'RE BREAKING THE LAW!

Comment: Miami was a sewer when I lived in Ft. Lauderdale in 1974. It hasn't gotten any better, only the sewer rats mostly speak spanglish now. One works for a local paper, his name is Barry and some people think he's funny. But he's not and never has been. Miami was a world leader in traffic gridlock even back in the 70's. You should have been there during the Arab oil embargo, what a riot. Miami is humid and sticky-- all the time, and this period of the year the place really smells bad with the smoke from fires in the Everglades wafting in. Though how people there tell the difference from Everglades smoke to the normal smell about town is strange. I guess one way to tell is if people aren't frantically checking to see if their drug stash is the cause of the smoke. If Tom Tancredo eventually gets some form of illegal alien legislation passed into law that actually has some teeth to it, Miami would lose half it's population. We can only home that Castro dies soon and all the Cubans head back to Havana. Miami would probably have to be declared a federal disaster zone if all the Columbians went home with their drug money. Miami, not a very nice place to visit, and definitely not a place anyone would want to live in

Comment: Your mentioning of Tancredo and toilets in the same sentence evoked in my mind vivid mental images of a certain disorder that manifests itself in the form of liquefied waste matter discharged from the large intestine. However, Dave, I must civilly disagree with you about a point or two. Otherwise, you're the man, you're the sane, sober voice I always look forward to hearing and, above all, you rock! For starters, Tancredo does not represent anybody in Denver or, for that matter, the rest of Colorado. He only represents his ilk, the xenophobes and the hidebound neo-Nazi purists in Colorado's sixth district, which also happens to be school murder capital of the whole Milky Way (read Littleton and its outlying gang-infested ghettos). Not only so, but he also symbolizes the epitome of bigotry and hatred, both of which have become the insignia of modern-day Christian extremists, nee the Crusaders of the middle ages, without a single exception (and this is no generalization). Please, please, please, Dave, and I plead with you here, don't short-change Tancredo and his duped subjects of any and all barbs for which they've toiled so hard to earn. I hold liable if ever you give these chimps another break. The way I see it, relocating to Gehenna would be a more clement fate than to be represented by Tancredo in this hell on Earth, otherwise known as Washington D.C. I say we give Tancredo a one-way ticket to D.C., where he can be at home with other bigoted politicians. Colorado is too heavenly to have such ill-creations within its borders. Secondly, Dave, in spite of Hickenlooper's managerial ineptness and his passive, laissez faire attitude about issues he once was passionate about, Denver remains a nice city. It is far more habitable than, say, New York City, D.C. or, for that matter, Miami. Sitting pretty at one mile high, Denver remains closer to heaven than any other major city in the union. We just have to somehow purge Tancredo out of office humanely, so that he can vanish from public life and feed on his own hatred in the privacy of his own home. Now, that would be a genuine display of patriotism staged by Coloradoans, a lot more so than the sham devotion to the country that Tancredo camouflages himself in. Hobiska Marvre.
