ok i know that by law wilmington is not allowed to annex land unless the land borders wilmington but i believe the communities of camby park, richardson park, belvedere, prices corner, pretty much all of kirkwood hwy all the way down to the library, stanton, marshallton, pike creek, penny hill, all of marsh road, fairfax, talleyville, greenville, edgemoor, all the way up to philadelphia pike until you enter claymont and that area west the experimental station i even believe that elsmere and newport still belong to wilmington even if they have there own mayor there mayor can join wilmington and be a high city council member... i mean they all say wilmington on their mail i've lived in newport my mail doesnt say newport it say wilmington, lived in pike creek my mail said wilmington... i've even heard a couple people talk about being annexed could help out northern delaware in the long run. i heard if wilmington was to annex all of its surrounding zip codes the population would be around 450,000, and as well it should be allowed if it wasnt for wilmington most of the towns around wilmington would not have any success northern delaware would be no offense like southern delaware nothing but mostly farm land so them towns and communties owe it to wilmington to join. and as of right now wilmington is in debt it could use some more income to stablize the ecomony and possibly wilmington downtown can become bigger since the size of the city would be about 5x's as big as it was before. i heard the main reason communities around wilmington doesn't wanna join is because of city taxes well to fix that offer other benefits for less such as electricity, water or even sewage treatment to make people want a major city delaware is always overlooked because our biggest city has 73,000 residents... also unifying wilmington with its neighbors can create one school district for the city because as of now 4 school districts in one city isnt doing a good job kids from wilmington ride all the way to newark and glasgow or christiana just to go to a white school thats bad, but enough about my opinion what do you guys/ ladies think?
