Yea, I'm with you on this one.

Front Street going East, is very nice(SLM). This area will improve( ie Front Street West) with the Ritz, and RBC towers, and TIFF.

Its the southern border of the now "famed" entertainment district.

I want to see the south side of this tower, It'll look great from the park at the CN Tower.

I can think of many streets in our country that I would label "awful". Front St is not on my list.

I wonder if we'll see something tall go in in that parking lot across the street from it?

I don't understand all the confusion in light of the thread's subject

The Front Street treatment of this proposed mixed-use expansion of the telecom hotel, at 151 Front Street West, by Northam Realty Advisors, is awful

The bricks look pretty blah, to be honest. I also think it would work better with the building right up against the street

^ the brick is from the existing building. The new building is incorporating it. I agree that the tower being set back like that is not ideal. My guess is they still want the existing building to be functional while construction is going on.

Well, it'd be nice to rip up what's there this time, but this is not a possibility, so given that, I think the treatment is very nice!

dont like the building but at least toronto is getting office proposals and actual office/commercial development.

Oh, silly me. When you said "Front St is awful", I assumed that was what you meant. Can't imagine why I didn't divine that you meant: "The Front Street treatment of this proposed mixed-use expansion of the telecom hotel, at 151 Front Street West, by Northam Realty Advisors, is awful " ;)

This tower is classic, love how it incorperated the existing brick building.
Let's get this thing started, thank you.

Taller, dont worry with goodlookin, he is makin' the assumption that you are as smart as him, and can read his brain through the computer.

Even painting it charcoal grey would be enough.

I hope the city forces them to do something more creative with the base.

the city has no right to force anything but it's not like they haven't crossed the line before - fingers crossed

Tower has some merit, the brick facade doesn't match, the podium's corner at intersection is hideous. - ice

Keep the tower, start again with the base. - ice

I'll have you know CMDUW is the seventh son of the seventh son, and is well known throughout the greater Edmonton area as being clairvoyant.
