I think Moncton is really doing some great things, which is evident from many of the great pictures shown. Also, the rapid population increase is very impressive. Clearly Moncton is the closest thing to competition that Halifax has (within the Maritimes, that is), and I think that is a good thing. It keeps "us" on our toes.

They also have done a good job with their Main St. It's just too bad the downtown is still essentially one street, with a little action here and there at some of the main intersections.

I also think that Moncton is blessed to NOT have such a powerfull anti-development lobby that exists in Halifax. Hopefully, there will be some new highrises popping up in downtown Moncton over the next few years. Every 2 or 3 new buildings over 12 stories would make a huge difference.
