Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): NKR is a good example for a NDB for longer range. NDBs work on frequencies between the longwave broadcasting range an the mediumwave broadcasting range. For these frequencies antennas with heights of 1/5 and 5/8 of corresponding wavelength are most comon and therefore one would expect for NKR working on 292 kHz, an antenna tower with a height of at least 200 metres.
However it uses only a 20 metre tall tower This is possible by excessive electrical lengthening.

A drawing of an antenna tower of a typical NDB in the database would be very sensitive, as there are many websites concerning NDBs in the internet ( http://www.beaconworld.org.uk/beaconpics.htm , http://www.trevord.com/navaids/ , http://www.rober.de/NDB , http://imagenisp.ca/jsm/ndb.html , http://www.trifid-nebula.de/ndb/index.htm , http://www.w3eee.com/NDBs.html , etc.) and a comparasion of an antenna tower of a NDB and that used of longwave and mediumwave broadcasting towers shows very impressionant how small these towers are ( most NDBs use towers smaller than 20 metres!)
