Google doesn't index new sites often. Certain sites like this one are however indexed into its database within minutes. This is done mainly on sites that google things is newsworthy and/or updates often, I think.
Coral group has its own website: http://www.coralgroupindia.com/home.html.
That's true, Boltz. I thought everone knew this fact about google.
That apart, its the second perennial cynic that I'm coming across - be it google's fault
or someone else fault. There is one more project posted in Trivandum thread by the
same group. I did not insert the link here coz I was expecting this project and had
already reported here.

At least this clearly shows that there is no opposition to these SEZs. This
must be the reason these SEZ developers have gone for Enviro clearance.
By the time this muck cabinet clears it they can get all other clearances.
Lets hope public outcry will force them to be fast

Here is Rakindo - they will announce their project this year. In Kerala they own
land only in Kochi - so their Kerala project must necessarily mean Kochi.
And that is about 500 acres - it must be one of a kind
Prasad Koneru, Managing Director, Rakindo Developers said, “Our vision is to create modern theme-based townships which will offer holistic lifestyle and world class amenities”. Rakindo is committed to investing $5 billion in India over the next five years and plans to build about 50 million square feet, on a conservative estimate. The company will in the course of the next 12 months announce a slew of new projects in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Ritz, Nitesh to offer $1 million luxury residences
BANGALORE/MUMBAI: Ritz Carlton Residences, the benchmark in luxury homes for the rich and famous in busy metros and exotic retreats, may be ready to redefine the ultimate in apartment living in India.
It is believed to have chosen the stunning backdrop of the Kochi coastline and the posh Boat Club area in Chennai as addresses for the million-dollar residences it will offer in partnership with Nitesh Estates, sources said.
But sources said the 2,500-4,000 sq ft apartments are expected to be ensconced within the premises of Ritz Carlton hotels in Kochi and Chennai.
Carrying a price tag in excess of $1 million, they will come with dedicated concierge and house-keeping services, gourmet dining and valet parking. An outright buy could cost Rs 3-6 crore and they may also be available on long lease. What has fuelled the speculation is Nitesh’s recent acquisition of land in Chennai and Kochi.
It is also believed to have bought 4 acres next to Bolghatty Palace in Kochi for an undisclosed amount. The land in Kochi is surrounded by water on three sides, with the heritage palace on the fourth.
“We can only confirm that the company is looking at mixed-use developments in both cities. We are looking at iconic developments that will leave a lasting impression,” Nitesh Estates CEO RS Mani said. He declined to comment on speculation about whether the Ritz association would be extended to these markets.
Sources said Nitesh has already roped in New York-based architectural consultancy KPF to develop these properties. The mixed-use development in Kochi is estimated to be about 5 lakh sq ft while in Chennai it could be a million sq ft. KPF is credited with some of the most acclaimed mixed-use developments in the world, including Tokyo’s $4-billion Rappongi Hills, built by realty tycoon Minoru Mori.

Lufthansa to fly Kochi soon

Lufthansa plans new flights between India, Germany
New Delhi (PTI): With India and Germany having recently enhanced their bilateral air traffic rights from 50 to 69 flights a week, premier German carrier Lufthansa will launch an all-business flight from Pune to Munich next month exercising new rights.
While the two countries have decided to increase the flight frequencies with immediate effect, they have also slated another round of discussions in February next year to further review their air traffic agreement.
"We are happy to get more rights to fly to India and have already enhanced frequencies on existing routes this summer. We are also launching the all-business class flight from Pune," Lufthansa's South Asia Director Warner Heesen told PTI here.
Maintaining that the airline planned to "triple" its business from India in the next three years, he said the rights to operate to other destinations like Cochin and Goa would be exercised soon.
Heesen said the 45 frequencies being operated till March this year would increase to 55 from July 1 and 10 more to be added by this winter. The airline now operates to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai.

The projects cover Coimbatore and Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Kumarakom and Kochi in Kerala. An 800-acre township and SEZ has also been planned about 10 km from Coimbatore.
The Marina project that comes up on an estuary and a home-away-from-home in Kumarokom, in Kerala are the two luxury projects waiting for environmental clearances. The company is otherwise planning to focus on integrated townships as a model housing offering for different budgets, and plans to stay away from city projects.

FACT signs MoU with IPL
KOCHI: Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) and Indian Potash Limited (IPL), a State trading enterprise, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in New Delhi on Wednesday which enables FACT to source key raw materials like sulphur, phosphoric acid and rock phosphate from IPL on credit over the next three years.
The MoU was signed by IPL’s Managing Director P.S. Gehlaut and Chairman and Managing Director of FACT George Sleeba in the presence of J.S. Sarma, Fertilizer Secretary.
As per the pact, IPL will supply raw materials worth Rs.400 crore in a quarter on the basis of a letter of comfort from the Union Fertilizer Department.
This is among the six major steps approved by Union Fertilizer Ministry for bolstering the fertilizer unit which reeled under severe raw material last financial year.

Brahmapuram trial run on May 16
KOCHI: The full-scale trial run of the solid waste treatment plant of the Kochi Corporation at Brahmapuram will be held on Friday at 9 a.m.
However, the date of the formal inauguration of the plant has not been fixed, Kochi Mayor Mercy Williams told media persons on Wednesday.
The Brahmapuram plant is expected to permanently solve the garbage crisis that city has been facing for quite some time. It will also introduce a scientific way of managing the waste in place of the present crude system of dumping the waste, hoped civic authorities.
The completion of the plant will also mark the completion of the first project under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission in Kerala, said Ms. Williams.
The Corporation has acquired 63.32 acre for the plant and the value of the land is estimated to be around Rs. 63 crore, she said.
The Andhra Pradesh Technology Development Corporation (APTDC) was the implementing agency and the FACT Engineering and Design Organisation the consultant of the Corporation for the project.
It will take around 40 days to process the waste that would be taken to the plant. The Corporation has made provisions for the separate collection and transport of storm water and leachet from the plant. The system has been made foolproof under the direct supervision of the officials of the Kerala State Pollution Control Board, she said.
Two review meetings were held with the officials of the Board and the other officials concerned to make the plant fully safe for the environment and to check any possible flaws that may creep into the system. Steps have also been taken to fill up the plot adjacent to the plant thus ensuring the safety of the structures of the plant, she said.
The construction of the compound wall, separate road to the site and setting up the green belt around the plant site are also progressing. The infrastructure for the segregated collection and transport of the waste are also in place, the Mayor said.
Corporation secretary Mini Antony made a presentation on the features of the plant and the process involved in the treatment of the municipal waste at the plant.

The 450 acres is meant for developing a township project which will include an IT SEZ, similar to their coimbatore township project(Walk to Work concept).

No, I didn't mean any work. The full length taxi track was opened in December '07
reducing wait for take off/landing. Then there was a news report that the taxitrack was not

24/7 Customer.com, a provider of customer support services and solutions will add about 1,000 people by April next even as it plans to branch out to Hyderabad and Kochi by investing close to $10 million this year.
The company is setting up a 250-seat centre in Hyderabad by investing about $5 million, which is expected to be operational by early December, said Mr T.S. Hariharan, Vice-President, Quality and Training, 24/7 Customer.com.
The company is also setting up a campus in Kochi, which is expected to be operational by early next year. It plans to have about 250 seats in the first phase and add another 250-300 by May next year. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kerala Government in this regard.
``We are in the process of identifying the land and the campus would come up in an area of 5 acres," he said. However, the company has the first right of refusal for developing the campus in additional 10 acres, he said. The company plans to invest $5 million in Kochi, for which it may go in for a bridge-loan from financial institutions, Mr Hariharan said.
24/7 Customer at present has some 800 people working out from its Bangalore centre. The Hyderabad and Kochi centres would also act as redundancy centres, he said.

Major increase in flight movement, Passenger movement, Freight Movement.
CIAL is the only airport in India which has achieved an
across the board increase in all the traffic parameters.
If you check the last 2 years data CIAL continued to be on top.
Now see this - CIAL has the lowest percentage of service by public sector airlines !!

This shows that public sector airline decisions on services are not based on traffic data

Hitch-free trial run at Brahmapuram plant
Ten truck-loads of vegetable waste segregated
Waste being segregated as part of the trial run held at the solid waste treatment plant of the Kochi Corporation at Brahmapuram on Friday.
KOCHI: Solid waste treatment began on a trial basis at the Brahmapuram plant of the Kochi Corporation here on Friday. Ten truckloads of waste, mainly consisting of rotten vegetables and plantain leaf collected from markets in the city, were segregated by the sorting machine.
The trial run passed off without hiccups. The Kochi Corporation hopes that the garbage problem in the city will be solved once the plant becomes fully operational. M.P. Fernando, Director, Operations, Hyquip Technologies, said that 25 tonne of waste could be segregated per hour using the facility. Hyquip has been entrusted with the task of running the plant for one year.
Elaborating on the mechanical procedure behind the sorting equipment, Kesavan Nair, General Manager, Projects, said that solid waste below 100mm thickness would be used for composting. Solid waste above 100mm will go into the landfill. The entire plant will become fully operational within two weeks, he said.
Mayor Mercy Williams said that the Corporation owned 62 acres of land, worth Rs.63 crore, at Brahmapuram. .The major components of the plant are a tipping floor for dumping waste from vehicles, pre-sorting shed for sorting of large garbage bags, treatment platform for composting of heaped waste, compost processing shed for processing it to manure, packing godown, sanitary landfill areaand other amenities such as parking shed, workers’ resting facility and weigh bridge.
The completion of the plant will also mark the end of the first project under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission in the State.
The Andhra Pradesh Technology Development Corporation is the implementing agency and the FACT Engineering and Design Organisation the consultant of the Corporation for the project.

Club FM, the FM venture of the Mathrubhumi Group, hit the Cochin airwaves on May 16. With this FM station, Club FM has completed the launch of all its four stations. Apart from Cochin, Club FM is present in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Kannur.
Shreyams Kumar, Director, Electronics Media, Mathrubhumi Printing and Publishing Co, is gung-ho about the Cochin market, which is considered to be the fiefdom of the Matrubhumi Group.
Club FM will be on air from 5 am till midnight everyday. Apart from regular interactive and live shows, the FM station has lined up some live road shows as part of its exclusive ‘connect to people’ marketing strategy.
Kumar feels that the three RAPA Awards for station anthem, humour programme category and best female radio jockey is a reiteration of the fact that Club FM’s programme quality is the ultimate differentiating factor for its success.
Meanwhile, adding to its medley of music and game shows, Club FM will be coming up with a new lunch time show, ‘Meals Ready’, especially crafted to capture the distinctive eating-out habit of the people of Cochin. The show will cover various eateries and food joints of the city.

Currently there are two candidates for taking charge as thre MD of CIAL
1. Mohammed Hanish
2. P H Kurian
Both these candidates are favoured by the director board.
But most probably it will be Mohammed Hanish, as he is favoured by Minister S Sharma who is a strong hold in the Borad of Directors. Also Mohammed Hanish has not taken charge in the deputed post!

Kerala to spin land from Vaiga Thread Processors to IT park
Economy Bureau
Posted online: Tuesday , May 20, 2008 at 0031 hrs IST
Thiruvananthapuram, May 19 The Kerala government is readying to spin an IT infrastructure out of a former cotton sewing threads unit. The proposed land for the IT park had been used on lease by Vaiga Thread Processors, formerly Yamuna Coats.
An IT park, yielding 10,000 direct jobs will be set up at Koratty (near Kochi and Trissur), state revenue minister KP Rajendran confirmed, when contacted. This is part of the initiatives from the 'land bank' that the state government is culling together for development projects, he said. About 45 acres for the new IT park will be from the excess land procured from the Koratty unit of Vaiga Thread Processors last year.

[QUOTE=PLUS;3561261]That's a repeat post Santhosh. Did you see previous page ?
Elbit project requires just a sanction for a bridge !! Achu is an outright crook trying to catch any bit straw
to see his interests through. This reaches its heights.
Whats more the committee constituted has never met to consider these projects. Obviously so !! If they meet
this fraud CM does not have anything to say against these projects and will have to give nod !!

I don't think achumama is a fraud and it's not right to call him so. I'm not a supporter of LDF or UDF but i've to tell a fact. yeah, he should act fast in the case of such big projects. but u cochitites should thank him. it's bcoz of his policy that many other private IT parks are coming up and many are willing to start IT parks and firms in kochi.
according to the previous UDF govt's policy, no other IT park other than smart city would have been allowed to operate in EKM district for the next 5 years. this means EKMs neighbouring districts (esp. thrissur) or other districts of Kerala or some other cities of India might have benefitted.
(i'm not a supporter of LDF or UDF. coz KTM is the most neglected district under LDF's rule. During the UDF regime, there were 3 ministers from the district including CM but they were totally useless as far as kottayam district's development is concerned. Only one person, shri V.N. Vasavan MLA, LDF,of KTM constituency has taken some initiative for the development of kottayam. most of the MLAs of KTM district are hopeless.)
So be happy.

I did not say VS is more faurdulent that Chandy. Chandy had included a clause saying
that no goverment IT parks will be built in Kochi. This was truly unjustified.
VS claimed to have goten rid of the same. But you see Kochi has 10 times more
private IT parks waiting for sanction than govt IT park (only Infopark). Though the
agreement with TECOM does not say anything - it is clear , as has repeatedly appeared
in media - that it is the underhand deal with TECOM that causes delay in sanction
of the private IT SEZs and other ventures like Sobha and Elbit.
I personally think, that if Chandy were in power, he would have acted worse. He would
have delayed govt owned as well as private IT parks from taking off - so its a case
of better among worse you see. Chandy is occupying the high moral ground becoz its
VS who gets to do the dirty work that he planned to do. That does not make the actions
of these politicians less fraudulent or dirty. If I dont call these fraud what should I call
a simple upright person ? God ? Unfortunately I'm not a believer.
