Front page article in the BizTimes today on this project which they say was originally proposed at 850 ft/1 million sq ft :wah: but then would have had to wait for the TransBay upzoning process to play out so is now proposed at 550 ft/340,000 sq ft. and green so it complies with current codes and can proceed quickly. The article says they perceive increasing demand for office space--it says Grubb & Ellis is "tracking" demand for 2.5 million sq. ft.--and want to build the building in time to get that business.

Will try to post the full article when available Sunday.

Bummer....but for me, that building seem to have come "out of left field" as a project, so its not quite the same as if say one of the 3 main towers of the Transbay Plan were downsized to 550 ft.

I think its still cool that there may be a tower that compliments the size of the Millenium now under construction across the street.
