Seems like one of Singapore's main claims to fame is that it is completely free of litter. I haven't found a single U.S. city (or anywhere else) that isn't marred by roadside trash. I'd like to visit Singapore just to see what it would be like to walk for miles without seeing any litter.

Seems like one of Singapore's main claims to fame is that it is completely free of litter. I haven't found a single U.S. city (or anywhere else) that isn't marred by roadside trash. I'd like to visit Singapore just to see what it would be like to walk for miles without seeing any litter. - dharper6

Well if you try placing one small piece or litter or chewing gum, it can be easily spotted by anyone. :tup: The very most you should see is some leaves everywhere and trash bins located every 20 meters or so.

In here, we mix East and West.

Many people especially from the overseas tend to see Singapore as a non-English speaking city. Now that's false. Well in fact, many Chinese and many races speak English more often than their second language. It's true, I am one of those. lol :yes: Here, education is absolutely compulsory in Singapore. About only 1/million students don't attend school. Subjects are all spoken in British English.

And believe me, even if you try going out late at night (say 12am) The streets are so safe there's even no one to bug you. You won't see any muggers or buggars dressed strangely sitting at a street corner smoking and looking at your bag. :yes:

And what's even surprising is that I rarely been to Sentosa.

Generally, developed Asian cities are fairly safe. I walked along the streets of Seoul at 1:30am and there were still couples and normal people strolling about. Hong Kong's street markets are still bustling at 11pm, and it's very safe to be out for the evening.

I stayed at the Oriental.

Oh yes, I agree. One time I went to Hong Kong, (I was like 7 at that time, now I'm 19) even at 2am there are still people walking around! :) Is this your first time in S'pore?
