Do you guys have any particular book or website that you suggest to get different perspectives on urban design?

Also, I recall last year there was some conference on urban design in Edmonton where different mayors from across North America came and the mayor of Honolulu talked about how he made his city more pedestrian friendly. Any idea where I can find a link to that conference?

thanks

Former Honolulu Mayor Jeremy Harris also did a presentation here in Victoria last year with his former head planner, Ben Lee. One thing said was density doesn't necessarily mean highrises, although any highrises built should be clustered to avoid a "picket fence" skyline.

His environmental outlook was impressive, and his efforts to improve the public realm, including pedestrian-friendly streets and sidewalks was interesting
