I'm new to the this board and like many others I have quickly become confused about all of the Midtown and Buckhead developments. So I created this Midtown Directory, consider it my opening offer to the board community. If you all like it and I have the time I'll create a Buckhead version.

In Atlanta Station you need to put two more spaces in between 201 17th and Twelve. 271 17th St is the next office tower to go up then 301 17th. Renderings aren't available for either atm.

Looks great otherwise! Thanks!!!

looks good. Plaza midtown is one block off though. It is between w. peachtree and spring, not to the east of w. peachtree

I've updated the map directory. I had to guess on the exact location of Museum Place and Luxe (couldn't find addresses). Also, the location of the Dewberry Capital proposals in North Midtown near Bufford Hwy/85/75 are also estimated. Let me know if I'm off by a lot on any of these.

This is great! While the current construction boom is awesome, I'm a little disappointed with the diversity of architecture of these new buildings. Every single one of them is all glass....doesn't this get old?

Great idea and Nice Job!

One Museum Place is across the street from the Woodruff Center replacing addresses 1285, 1293, and 1307.
Luxe looks perfect.

I said the same thing 3 months ago. You think for a million dollar condo you would get a stone or marble exterior. Look a this Sunday Paper (AJC). They have a picture of Park Vinings. It can be found in the Business section page N8. Such a classy tower!

Let's not forget the conversion of the Sheraton into the W Midtown at Colony Square.

Is that really a go now? Been on the drawing board since '99. I had considered it vaporware about 3 years ago.

Great job!

Not all the buildings are glass curtain wall. Besides that's the predominant feel for architecture for the moment for all these towers and what the public is requesting in general now. That will change as we are beginning to see with some of the newer proposals such as the Buckhead Hilton. The mixture of periods of styels will result in a true urban character though. That's the style around the world for the moment honestly. This issue keeps coming up ever couple of months but compare stuff from 15 years ago and then stuff from 25 years ago in Atlanta. Architecture has periods just like clothing.

What about Rhodes Uptown or is that gone again from Dewberry?

Yep, It is going to start in the Fall. At least that is what they are saying.

I think architectural style is more a function of cost than style. I think most developers or architects would like to use stone or marble, but they have set budgets. I guess right now if condos don't start over $2.5 Million (St. Regis and Mansion on Peachtree) you get all glass exterior.

I'm not familiar with "Rhodes Uptown," I did find a listing for "Rhodes Center" on the Dewberry website- http://www.dewberrycapital.com/Web/RhodesCenter.asp.

Is this what you were thinking about, or was there another proposal?

Rhodes Uptown
• Location: Block bounded by 19th Street and Rhodes Center Way and Spring and Peachtree streets
• Size: 1.5 acres
• Existing: Vacant building, formerly the Rhodes shopping center
• Grand plan: Luxury hotel, residences and office space

That's from a press story about Dewberry back in November 2006. There was a rendering and sign up on the property back then

The rendering is actually still on the old building.

Thanks...I tried to start a Buckhead thread, however I'm having trouble finding a map view I like. I'd like to keep a similar zoom level so one can see where the development will be placed...however, its difficult in Buckhead because Peachtree actually runs more Southwest to Northeast in that area- so the map would have to be really wide to get in most of the buildings. Anyway- I'll give it another attempt this weekend. I haven't started on a Downtown Map, however I don't see this being a problem.

While I love the actual building, I'm not sure if the previous rendering showed the street level. I don't expect urbanism in Galleria/Smyrna, but it could easily achieve that if new developments weren't so auto centric. All they need to do is put a moat outside of the gate to keep out the low income trash.

Walked by Onyx and Luxe today. I'd say Onyx is definitely winning.... Luxe looks like they're still doing test bores or something.

1010 is coming along nicely! Anybody been to the sandwich/pasta place across the street? I was going to sit on their patio so I could watch the progress but there was nobody in the place right at noon.
