They made it look like the standard Four Seasons residence website. Too bad the building is so ugly. :(

I think the early rendering of Four Seasons was beautiful. Now the new look of the face is kinda weak. They smoothed out the surface and took away the geometric shapes of the windows. They first had block like sections pertruding out of the building. Now it is a short clone of Wamu tower.
Sad they always change a building and just can not leave a good thing alone.

Why is it that all of these condo/hotels feel the need to architecturally distinguish between the residence portion and hotel portion of the building? It seems that's what they've done here at the Four Seasons, which seems to be a change from the original renderings. ( I am holding out hope that the lower portion of the building is brick, and not exposed crapcrete like the Sheraton tower)

Does anyone have a copy of the original rendering? Kinda curious as to what it looked like :)

What will the stuff on the bottom part of the tower be made of? Will it really have that brownish color? It would look much better in white IMO

For a copy of the original rendering, I think you can find it on www.emporis.com

Wow. The bottom half of that building is about the cheapest, dullest, looking thing I can imagine. Very disappointing. That area of first avenue is one of my favorite in the city mainly because of the texture, color, and variety of the architecture down there. Maybe this would "work" in Belltown, but downtown and especially across the street from the New Art Museum it's a tragedy. Incidentally, guess what Art Museum patrons will see when those neato moving shutters are pulled back? Even the top half on the street side; so dark and brooding. Meanwhile, top half on the water side I really like. WTF?

Here are two earlier renderings from SSC development page. I'd gladly take either.

SeattlePrivateResidences.com has been up for quite a while now... I talked to an agent a few weeks ago and learned that 23 of 36 total residences were still available. It will be interesting to watch how sales fair as the building takes shape. ~$2,100 /SF, sweet jesus.

Eh, not that different. If anything, I like the newer ones better - though I do miss the green.

What happened to this building? (Especially the bottom half?) The initial renderings were so promising...It seems like anyone with the kind of $$$ they are asking per square foot would want to live in a signature building architecturally. This building is VERY FAR from it. Too Bad for Seattle.

wasn't there an article that talked about how it was gonna be very asian influeced, if i remember correctly the article said the bottom part was wood. i think that'd actually be kinda cool. if you cure wood right it can last just as long as anything, there's 1,000 year old wood buildings in asia. that would also explain why it looks brown, since wood is brown

Wow, how unremarkable... lame! I hope it looks nicer in person. I hate when developers go the el cheepo route.

I'm guessing that there was a major falling out between the architect and the developer or whomever and the orignal design was made off limits. Either that or they're cheep.

Newer rendering is so sad.

So is it the rear of the Four Seasons that is facing the new SAM wing and the Wamu Tower? If so, I sure hope they dress it up, because that street is starting to look sweet!

Wow, for a short and stalky building, the developers didnt do much to make such a prominent building aesthetically pleasing. However, in the building's defense, i like the roofline and the rooftop greenspace on the northern end of the tower.

If the bottom part is made of wood then I think the building will be great :)........if its not then :(
