World's largest residential tower will provide 'height of luxury'
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/640/52843474tf7.jpg
The Pentonium in Dubai will become the world's tallest residential tower
Plans for the world’s tallest residential tower - the Pentonium in Dubai - have been unveiled today.
Trident International Holdings has partnered to create unique alliances with premium brands from across the world for its new 516 metre-tall tower, a development they describe as the 'defined height of luxury'.
The top floors of this world’s only Pentominium will contain a Sky Lounge, Sky Pool, Business Centre and a private observation deck along with ladies & gentleman’s health clubs and a cigar lounge, squash courts, a banqueting hall and private theatre.
Each individual residential unit will take up a complete floor of the tower providing over 6500 sq.ft. of living space.
Each floor will have a private foyer of its own and smart biometric access control.
Taking the element of luxury living spaces to another level are entire floors which are uniquely suspended in mid air, giving the impression of floating penthouses in the sky.
“Our aim is to create the new benchmark in luxury living,” said Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Wazir Ali Daredia.
“This aim is reflected in all our projects and is what differentiates Trident and its projects. Through the alliances we have partnered with for Pentominium, along with the uniqueness of this proposition, we will achieve this.
“The building will be iconic, and its residents exclusive. They will be living in a piece of history.
“Trident’s strategy has always been to offer innovative luxury features combined with premium waterfront location, and the Pentominium development is the very expression of this.”
Trident is positioned and acknowledged internationally as a boutique developer of successful and highly visible residential towers in Dubai, including Marinascape, Bayside Residence and the Trident Grand Residence.
Like Trident’s other projects, Pentominium will be no more than 500 metres from the waterfront at Dubai marina; the centrepiece of new Dubai.
Daredia added: “Our background in luxury goods demonstrates our precision and finesse, our understanding of true opulence. We do not sell towers, we provide a lifestyle.”
Pentominium is being designed by award winning and world renowned architects and designers Aedas. Based in Britain, with offices around the world Aedas is responsible for a number of striking buildings and developments in Dubai and across the Gulf already.
Interior design of Pentominium will be undertaken by Hirsch Bedner & Associates, exclusive designers of Ritz Carltons, Grand Hyatts & Four Seasons worldwide.
http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/4402/70232238ct1.jpg
There will be a dedicated Concierge Service by Quintessentially, the international private members club, which will be available 24 hours a day to meet residents’ needs whether locally or across the world.
Through a series of unique alliances Pentominium owners will have the rights to use a fleet of premium automobiles including a Rolls-Royce Phantom that comes as part of the Pentominium experience along with world renowned Azimut yachts for leisurely trips across the Arabian Gulf.
The tower’s spa will be run by Six Senses Spas, the operators of a number of premium world class health resorts around the world including the multi-award winning Soneva Fushi in the Maldives, itself one of the top 10 spas in the world according to Forbes.
All public areas will be crystallized by Swarovski and each Pentominium unit will be fitted with state of the art sound equipment Bang & Olufsen can provide.
Pentominium’s business lounge (overlooking The Palm) will be accessorized by exclusive Tiffany accessories.

Why would they make a rendering with L.A. in the background, especially since Dubai has enough of it's own towers to appear in the background.
Plus I imagine it would be a pain every time the fire bell rings and everyone has to stand outside!

I like the way it has 7 setbacks on the side of it
And which plot is the Pentonium in the big marina picture?
This is one of the better buildings all-around that Ive seen in Dubai, not to mention the new level of luxury is ridiculous. My only problem is that the building will not stand out as much as it would in any other city, or in some other part of the Dubai Marina, or something. It will be surrounded by towers, and about 8 of them are supertalls, and of those, I think there are 4 that are only 300 or less feet shorter. So not only will it not stand out as much, but I'd assume views of the water would be somewhat inhibited.

Notgoingtobebuiltonium. This just doesn't seem very feasible as planned, even for Dubai. They are shooting for about a 10-12 slenderness ratio on this building (which in itself is not economical (look what happened to the old Chicago Spire design)) from what I can tell by the renderings. To further complicate the economic feasibility of this, they have only all units that take up an entire floor? I suppose with fewer people they can possibly eliminate some elevators, needing less core.. but that only helps so much. I actually really like the design, but I predict this one doesn't go...

This was my thought. They'd just about have to be. There could feasibly be a market for this sort of thing if enough wealthy foreigners were to take a "second home" in Dubai.

They are really hurthing themselves by putting those super talls that close. The location in distance is diminishing the signifcance of height adding to the skyline. Of course though it is up to the developers who are competing for the business (the wealthy foreigners), (who most likely don't exist). Smart business, stupid urban planning.
As for as the building itself: you know to me its just another typical Dubai residential highrise. Anywhere else, I'd be more enthusiastic towards this, but these buildings are just so common here its not even amusing anymore.
Will it get built (I'm 50/50). Who will occupy (I think they will make cardboard cut-outs of people dressed like the monopoly guy to fill the units).
I'm not paying for it, so what the hell, you got my all for to build.

The plot that says trident tower. It could also be on the one to the left of that or maybe even both!
Thing is, those ? plots will probably also be 100 floor towers. Not only is does this close proximity block everyone's view, cause major traffic, and massive wind tunnels but is also a massive fire hazard.

:whip: :( :whip: :( Seeing as how the average wage for a skilled carpenter working on the Burj Dubai is around $7.60 *per day* and laborers "earn" $4.00 *per day* (according to Wikipedia), they better have a very creative mortgage financing scheme in place.:whip: :( :whip: :(

the entire city is being marketed as a second home for people to spend several weeks a year. i can't imagine being in dubai when most major projects are complete. i can only imagine it would be a graveyard of behemoth ryugyong hotels. isn't it people that makes a city great? give me $5 mil and i'm off to punta del este or santorini or the like.
in a situation like this i'd like to say "i want to be proven wrong." but i don't. i want dubai to fail. spectacularly. then again, maybe it will draw away a lot of the chinese businessmen absentee-ing vancouver to death. but somehow i doubt that.

Pentominium, Dubai
Pentominium is expected to become the most sought after
address in the world
The Pentominium project in Dubai will become the “Defined Height of Luxury”. Trident International Holdings has partnered with premium brands from across the world for its new project. It will be a true bouquet of luxury with the association of the likes of Swarovski, Tiffany & Co, Six Senses, Davidoff, Bang Olufsen and others, a first ever in a residential proposition.
In a city of superlatives, the 516 metre tall building and its 120 floors will overshadow every other residential development in the world. The building will be iconic, and its residents exceptionally exclusive. You will be living in a piece of history unique among the property for sale in Dubai.
Each Residence Spans an Entire Floor
Pentominium is a unique concept created through combining a penthouse with a luxury condominium, which means that each residence spans an entire floor.
The top floors of this world’s only Pentominium will contain a Sky Lounge, Sky Pool, Business Centre and a private observation deck along with ladies & gentleman’s health clubs and a cigar lounge, squash courts, a banqueting hall and private theatre.
Every aspect of the building, from its architecture to its systems, have been created to reflect Trident’s position of “Creating New Benchmarks in Luxury Living”.
Pentominium is expected to become the most sought after address in the world, a signature to the status of those who have reached the very pinnacle of success.

Each individual unit will take up a complete floor of the tower providing over 6500 sq.ft. of unsurpassed luxury. Each floor will have a private foyer of its own and smart biometric access control. Taking the element of luxury living spaces to another level are entire floors which are uniquely suspended in mid air, giving the impression of floating penthouses in the sky.
Successful developer with a strong track record
Trident as real estate company is one of the most successful developers of luxury, waterfront homes. Positioned as a boutique developer of successful and highly visible residential developments in Dubai, including Marinascape, Bayside Residence and the Trident Grand Residence, the developer offers owners an unbeatable lifestyle along with an attractive Dubai investment property. The capital appreciation of the developer’s first project is now 100%, and on their second project is 70%.
Like Trident’s other projects, Pentominium will be no more than 500 metres from the waterfront at Dubai marina; the centrepiece of new Dubai.
Lead by Howard Hirch, who normally focuses his undivided attention to one to two projects a year, the Pentominium is going to be his materpiece.

A Series of Unique Alliances
There will be a dedicated Concierge Service by Quintessentially, the international private members club, which will be available 24 hours a day to meet your requests whether locally or across the world.
Through a series of unique alliances you will as a Pentominium owner have the rights to use a fleet of premium automobiles including a Rolls-Royce Phantom that comes as part of the Pentominium experience along with world renowned Azimut yachts for leisurely trips across the Arabian Gulf.
The development’s spa will be run by Six Senses Spas, the operators of a number of premium world class health resorts around the world including the multi-award winning Soneva Fushi in the Maldives, itself one of the top 10 spas in the world according to Forbes.
All public areas will be crystallized by Swarovski and each Pentominium unit will be fitted with state of the art sound equipment Bang & Olufsen can provide.
Pentominium’s business lounge (overlooking The Palm) will be accessorized by exclusive Tiffany accessories.
Pentominium will be “the Defined Height of Luxury”, a truly iconic development containing no offices or hotels, setting a new standard of residential unit unsurpassed anywhere on the planet.
Attractively Priced
The residences are priced extremely attractively at 1,400-1,900 AED per sq.ft. compared to other signature developments in Dubai such as Burj Dubai at 4,700 AED per sq.ft. or La Reve at 3,000 AED per sq.ft.
The Pentominium will cost from £1 million for a lower level unit up to £5 million for an upper penthouse. You can reserve a unit for US$50,000 fully-refundable. Then you pay 10% on confirmation, and then another 10% in Aug, and then 10% in November. There is a mortgage offered; current max loan is AED5 million.

I like how the antennas are chopped of sears, as though they don't exist. And how none of the other buildings that are being built taller than Taipei 101 are included....but Burj is.

Great info and a great building, but isn't the set deffinition of the start of construction here at SSP caisson/foundation work? If so, judging by the picture posted above in the first post of the site, this is still a long way off and still in the wrong section.;)

Good point. This thing is still proposed...maybe in site prep.

Sure it is, just look at the very pedestrian-friendly parking garages at the bases of each tower.

Did u see the post about how this is going to be the tallest block in the world? Try reading the previous page, might help you get an idea for the context. And we still aren't moved? I think I might toss out an idea of my own about a 1600ft tower in st. louis that's under the construction so us poor St. Louisans have something to talk about in this section of SSP!

I like it but I don't like that Dubai is making 1000 footers unremarkable and no longer special. :(
Unremarkable for Dubai on this forum maybe. However, I don't think theres a way to ever make a 1000 footer unremarkable and no longer special in real life. I personally find 500 footers still remarkable and special:) . All in the eye of the beholder. That and we in America here still have plenty to look forward to, Dubai may be building FOR the future, but it is us who will be building IN the future. Think of it that way :D !

In my opinion, this is the most attractive tower design in Dubai, if also elsewhere. It is really fantastic looking.

But But ! that would make no sense at all since we all know St.louis will never get a suprtall ! :whip:

Here is another render of the completed Dubai Marina... The Pentominium will look awesome in the cluster to the far right of the pic
http://i19.tinypic.com/307ucue.jpg
What's the supertall on the far left side of the Marina? Is that an actual project?
My favorite thing about this tower is that it's all glass - or mostly glass. The Marina has too many painted concrete towers with ho-hum designs. It needs some shiny glass towers to help add some color and brightness.

While the Pentominium is awesome, the Marina masterplan looks awful.

Dude, while Marina is the tallest section of scrapers in the world, it's almost among the ugliest!
The Pentominium does a good job of easing the eyesore in Marina. While I don't agree with it's 'fins' it is an awesome design overall.
Who wants to bet that before this thing is over, they will raise the height just above 2000 feet just so they can top the Spire for residential WTB? >.>

This tower is way to stylish for Dubai.....lol kidding. ;) But it is nice to see a strikingly modern nightlifish skyscraper go up in a city of tropical tack (with the exception of a few towers into which some thought went. *cough* burj dubai *cough*). That Jumeirah Park (three posts previous) is a little frightening. It looks like they are trying to build all of L.A.'s sprawl at once. :(

It was, but it was cancelled.
Anyway, why is this thread still here, this tower has in no way started construction

I'm not a particular fan of Dubai architecture, but this is one nice building. Very classy and pleasing to the eye. To me, its a change from the ordinary: tall buildings but with no surprising design.

Wow, great pics. That's the first time I've seen silver cladding on this tower. Most of the drawings or renderings of this tower I've seen before show blue cladding on it.

It's cause the models are cheap. Why are models so cheap in Dubai when everything else is so expensive?
If I was in Dubai I would go up to the sales person and ask "Why are your models so cheap when you're making a billion dollar tower?"
Anyways, I like the building and the flash could also have something to do with it lookin silver not blue.
