I really like how the current cunstruction will shape this skyline. Thanks for posting those panos.
Brad, I took the liberty and posted this pic here http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=125731&page=3 as well. Along with many other pics of SCC origin.
Speaking of Moscow skyline, you have several great shots taken from Novyj Arbat highrises. It would be nice IMO if you show them here too.
OK, I'll do it myself... This one is by Brad, dating around September 2006
taken from one of New Arbat highrises

To be honest Moscow doesn't win my heart to much, at least not during winter... Not enough green, to much gray and dull browns... save for the last few pictures.
Anyone have late spring-early summer shots?

Moscow is gonna be off the hook in 2011 - just look at those skyscrapers! Moscow really is an incredible city from many angles. A place I must get to as soon as possible.
I love this pic. Is it a park within Moscow or a wilderness area outside of it? Because if that is a park then it is an incredible one and I must say puts Central Park to shame.

Moscow is very big and full of interesting places, such as parks, mostly neglected by western visitors. Moscow parks worth attention are Botanical Garden, VDNKh, Sokolniki, Izmajlovo, Losinyj Ostrov, Kuskovo, Kuzminki, Kolomesnkoe, Tsaritsyno, Neskuchnyj Sad, and others. This one is known as Krylatskie Holmy.
These banks of Moscow river are well within city limits but much closer to the city edge than to the center. The very first pic in this thread is a panorama by Brad.
This park does not put Central Park to shame simply because they are way too different in location, complexion, sheer size, etc. A comparison with Bois de Boulogne in Paris would be more relevant IMO.

This Thread is absolutely Amazing.
Why isn't it in My Pictures section? i think a lot of people would like to see it but are missing it due to its location. Can it be moved? if so please do.
Thanks for the kind words Magnus.
Magnus, the obvious answer to your question - because Brad had started the thread here. :)
In the end, since Brad is the thread starter, it is up to him to request moving it anywhere if he wanted to do so for some reason.
However, both myself and Brad have been updating this thread with pics made by various people, so it hardly belongs to "My City Photos" section.
Moreover, I think there is nothing wrong with having this thread here - people who have discovered it and found that they like it will come back to Euro section to check what is new, and this will hopefully liven up this section.
If you like this thered, you may want to check out other threads I maintain, such as Russia (http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=135686) here in the Euro section
thread Moscow (http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=138852) in "Found City Photos"
and Moscow IBC Rising (http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=125731) in "Found City Photos"
The latter thread "Moscow IBC Rising" contains predominantly shots of the International Businees Center, many of them taken from relatively short distances or shots showing the construction site. Most of them IMO do not qualify as "skyline" shots. This thread, on the opposite, is devoted predominatly to skyline, i.e to shots of highrises taken from a distance (plus, skyline in Moscow does not always involve IBC). When posting to both threads I try to avoid dupilcation so that people would not assume that it enough to visit one of them. There is some duplication, but I try to avoid it.
If these pics make you curious about Russia, I cannot avoid advertising Photosection (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=439) from "Russia" on SSC Forum. This is anyway where I cherry pick >90% of the photos shown in the above threads. But there is a lot more there worthwhile IMO.

overall, what we have here is a lot of high-rises and mid-rises and not much of skyline (fog does not help)... but anybody who preaches "density" as a virtue should be satisfied; there are a number of scrapers U/C in these pics that will probably make a decent skyline when there are completed

Moscow can/will be an even better city in the future by continue adding modern skyscrapers, it gives a good mix betwine the old & the new.
probably does not qualify as "skyline", but anyway...

Does anyone has a good render of the Moscow International Financial or Business CenteR?? because I haven't found one, all are very bad renders, I would like to see a more real one..
By the way,.. very good pics of the MIFD
you are correct, JOSSZZ, there is no definitive render
early renders are sketchy, plus they are wrong because many buildings went through significant design changes
later renders are wrong because every time any buliding is changed/new one is introduced - the investor/builder of this particular building makes a render of the IBC that shows off their own building but greatly simplifies and even distorts competing projects; such renders even now are frequently based on obsolete versions of many buildings
so, there is no up-to-date render
the foto was taken from the 20th floor of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (one of 7 sisters); the original and larger version are here (http://fotki.yandex.ru/users/lolmaus/view/5470/)
http://i15.tinypic.com/8f30j9v.jpg
it is more than 1.5 years old and is already outdated by construction; but we so rarely see pics taken from this limited access building that I feel the pic is worth posting

An odd sight to see all those chimneys in the core of the city
These are CHPs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cogeneration). The water vapor from Cooling towers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooling_tower) is quite more visible when the temperature is below 0 °C.
An odd sight to see all those chimneys in the core of the city
Moscow, as I am sure you know, is northern-most megapolice of 15mln people, and probably the coldest too. There are a number of big heat/electricity generating plants in the city, but only one of them- the one on Kievskaja embarkment is anywhere close to historical city center.

autor: http://metro-rumata.livejournal.com/
taken from: http://metro-rumata.livejournal.com/120890.html
Even this plant is well outside Garden Ring, but it is close to Hotel Ukraina, IBC and Moscow State U, so it does get in a lot of pictures.
Good news - most of these chimneys do not emit much toxic stuff - mostly CO2 and water vapor. Bad news - these chimneys on Kievskaja do interfere with skyline. It is technically possible to clean the emissions and release them from much lower chimneys, but it would cost some $$, and I have no idea if fathers of the city consider doing away with Kievskaja chimneys any time soon for aesthetic reasons.

It is one of gigantomanic structures by infamous Zurab Tsereteli. This one is located in Victory Park (WWII) on Poklonnaja Gora (not far from IBC)

Not bad... a good beginning, it seems. It's got height, now it needs more lower ones to accompany and provide it with some mass.
It's got height, ...Not yet.
Now the tallest skyscraper has268 metres
The cluster will have at least 5 super tall over 300 m. Russia tower will be 612 m.
